AFK Gaming has learnt that Enzo "Timado" Gianoli will be joining OG as a stand-in for DreamLeague Season 22. This move comes after OG moved its previous carry player, Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev, to the inactive roster. This move has opened the door for Timado, whose experience with Tundra Esports and TSM has prepared him for this pivotal role.
The Surprising Shift: Timado Joins OG as its New Carry
This roster alteration comes as a surprise, particularly in light of OG's commitment to maintaining a stable lineup. In an earlier interview with Rosesa Gaming at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Ceb revealed that OG will remain unchanged for 2024. He said that OG was all for “stability.” In the interview, Ceb said, “No changes on the OG side for sure. We are all for stability… What I can say is that from OG’s side, we always aim to have little to no changes. Always!”
The decision comes after OG's underwhelming performance at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai event, where the team concluded its run in last place. Such a result may have prompted a reevaluation of the team's strategy and composition.
The introduction of Timado as a stand-in for the upcoming DreamLeague Season 22 marks a significant moment for OG. Timado, with his rich experience and commendable skill set, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and new energy to the team. His previous experience with teams like Tundra Esports and TSM had showcased his ability to perform under pressure and adapt to diverse playstyles, qualities that OG will be keen to leverage as they look to reclaim their spot at the top of the competitive Dota 2 scene.
In light of this news, OG’s roster for DreamLeague Season 22 will be:
Enzo "Timado" Gianoli
Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov
Adrián "Wisper" Dobles
Matthew "Ari" Walker
Sébastien "Ceb" Debs
While it remains unclear whether Timado's position within the team is a temporary arrangement or hints at a more permanent shift, his inclusion in the roster is a statement of intent from OG. The team's decision to bring in a player of Timado's caliber, even as a stand-in, reflects a proactive approach to addressing their recent setbacks and revitalizing their gameplay.
As OG prepares for DreamLeague Season 22 with Timado in their ranks, the Dota 2 community will be watching closely to see if this change can turn the tide for the two-time The International champions. The season kicks off on 25th February 2023 and will feature $1,000,000 USD and 18,550 EPT Points at stake.
