TI10 Chinese Talents to Work Remotely From Shanghai

The Chinese talent crew for The International 10 (TI10) will work remotely from Shanghai according to an official post from Dota 2's official Weibo account. Some of the members of the Chinese talent crew are also reported to be in favor of this decision. TI10 is scheduled to take place in Bucharest, Romania. Along with the Russian and English crews, the Chinese talent was expected to cover the event live from Bucharest.

Malaysian Dota 2 coach, Arthur provided screenshots of two Chinese commentators who were chosen for TI10, Shi "Sdn" Danni and Chen "Ams" Juan. Both commentators were reportedly pleased with the decision to work remotely from China.

Malaysian Dota 2 personality, Tiffani "Oling" Lim also tweeted with regards to the same matter.

The reports come amid a tumultuous time in Bucharest where two Chinese teams have confirmed positive COVID-19 cases. There have been multiple cases of the virus from Team Aster (roster players and staff), while Invictus Gaming's offlaner, Thiay "JT-" Jun Wen, has also tested positive. The fact that all five Chinese teams are staying in the same hotel is further exacerbating this issue. Three other Chinese teams have reportedly taken some serious measures like canceling practice sessions and switching off the AC ventilation to avoid the virus in this dire scenario.

Valve and PGL, the two organizers of TI10, have not yet made an official statement on any of these issues, which have occurred over the past three days. Furthermore, it is unknown at the moment if the personalities who make up the English and Russian talent crew will also make some travel amendments amid this significant rise in COVID-19 cases in Romania. In the We Say Things podcast 122 that was released on 30th Sept 2021, Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten and Troels Lyngholt "syndereN" Nielsen mentioned that they are scheduled to leave for Bucharest on Sunday (3rd Oct 2021) and Monday (4th Oct 2021) respectively.

TI10 is currently scheduled to take place from 7th to 17th Oct 2021. The group stage begins on 7th and ends on 10th Oct, and all matches are expected to be played from the team hotels. From 12th to 17th Oct, the Main Event will take place in front of a live audience at the Arena Nationala Stadium in Bucharest.
