DreamLeague Season 19 is coming to an end with only two series left before Group Stage 2 concludes. Currently, the top four teams in the standings are Gaimin Gladiators, Team Liquid, Shopify Rebellion, and Tundra Esports. Tundra is guaranteed fourth place, but the remaining top three spots are yet to be determined as Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid has one series left each, and each team’s standings can change based on the outcome of these matches. It is noteworthy that both Shopify Rebellion and Tundra Esports made it to the top four despite having stand-ins in Mikey and Aramis, respectively. It will be interesting to see how the standings change after the last two series, as the playoffs are set to begin from April 22nd to April 24th. Additionally, these are supposed to be the last few games on this patch, and fans are eagerly awaiting the new patch's release after the final series concludes.
Shopify Rebellion and Tundra Esports Make Top 4 Despite Standin
With the final four teams remaining at Dreamleague Season 19, the playoffs are set to have some exciting matches taking place from the 22nd to the 24th of April involving some of the best teams in the world.
Shopify Rebellion
Shopify Rebellion, one of the top 4 teams in DreamLeague Season 19, has made a remarkable achievement by reaching this stage of the tournament with a stand-in player. Max "Mikey" Barkö, the stand-in player for the team, has proven to be a valuable addition to the team, especially in its crucial matches against Tundra and Beastcoast.
With his exceptional performance, Mikey has contributed to Shopify Rebellion's successful run in the tournament. The team's victory over Tundra was particularly impressive, as they managed to secure a 2-0 win against the TI11 champions. Despite being a team with standin that has no experience professional experience, Shopify Rebellion has shown great potential in this tournament in accommodating Mikey and its success so far is a testament to the team's hard work and dedication. The team played with a standin as its midlaner Abed "Abed" Yusop faced visa issues. It is not confirmed whether Abed will join the rest of the team before the playoffs of Dreamleague Season 19.
Tundra Esports
Tundra Esports is another team that has made it to the Top 4 of DreamLeague Season 19 with a stand-in player. Adam "Aramis" Moroz, the stand-in player for Tundra, joined the team last minute as the team’s support player, Martin "Saksa" Sazdov said that he was burned out from playing too much Dota and would return for the Berlin Major 2023.
Tundra managed to secure victories over OG, EG, and Beastcoast in the second group stages, where they had to dominate performances against each team. These victories proved to be crucial in Tundra's bid to secure a Top 4 spot in the tournament. Despite having a stand-in player, Tundra has managed to perform exceptionally well in the tournament, and its success is an affirmation of the team’s ability to adapt to unpredictable situations. With the playoffs set to start soon, Tundra will be hoping to continue its impressive run and secure a spot in the grand finals.
Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid: Best in the World?
Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid were the first to qualify for the playoffs with impressive runs in Group Stage 2. Both teams have only lost one game each and look mighty impressive heading into the playoffs.
With the current standings, Tundra is guaranteed fourth place in the standings and a slot in the lower bracket of the Dreamleague Season 19 playoffs. The first to third-place standings however are currently undecided as there is a potential for a three-way tiebreaker between Shopify Rebellion, Team Liquid, and Gaimin Gladiators, based on how the next two series end. With only four teams in the playoffs of Dreamleague Season 19, the difference between being in the Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket is paramount and every team will be vying for the Top 2 finish.
