The Dota 2 Pro Community Reacts to Patch 7.30

Dota 2 patch 7.30 had left both the fan and pro communities keeping their heels cool for a long time. Now that the patch has been released, professionals from all regions are gradually reviewing the patch notes and testing out the new heroes and items in ranked matches. Patch 7.30 has been met with mixed reviews so far. While some like Sébastien "Ceb" Debs had hoped for more changes that would rejuvenate the gameplay, others like Ioannis "Fogged" Loucas seem eager to try out Pudge's updated Meat Hook.

A few Dota 2 personalities were unimpressed with patch 7.30

OG’s offlaner, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, mentioned that the patch was underwhelming as he had expected more from it that would make the gameplay “refreshing.”

In the weeks leading up to the patch, many in the community had expected the patch to bring significant changes to the outposts, economy, and map, but nothing has changed in these areas.

Dota 2 statistician, Ben "Noxville" Steenhuisen, believes 7.30 is "like an appropriate pre-TI mini-patch." However, Enigma, a hero that has almost always been prominent at TIs, did not receive a significant buff. Furthermore, Noxville also believes this is the smallest main patch

Co-founder of Beyond The Summit, David "GoDz" Parker, also felt that this was more of a sub-patch than the main patch.

Alliance’s support, Artsiom "fng" Barshak, also expected patch 7.30 to be bigger.

4 Zoomers’ new carry, Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao, simply mentioned that he was unhappy with patch 7.30.

Teams and personalities who reacted positively and humorously to patch 7.30

Peter "ppd" Dager, the winner of the International 5 (TI5), humorously mentioned that "Jungle Pudge" had arrived since the hero's Meat Hook now instantly kills any non-ancient creeps.

Dota 2 commentator and analyst, Andrew "Jenkins" Jenkins, who is a Pudge spammer, hilariously mentioned that he was looking for tier 1 teams and Team Secret and Arkosh Gaming should kick their respective offlaners for him.

Dota 2 commentator Gabriel "Lyrical" Cruz, who plays Dark Seer quite often, took to Twitter to thank IceFrog for buffing the hero.

Evil Geniuses' support player, Andreas Franck "Cr1t-" Nielsen, pointed out hilariously how Clinkz keeps changing over patches. Over the past two years, Clinkz's abilities have been overhauled multiple times. His Strafe ability was removed for a new one in 7.30 as well.

Evil Geniuses’ offflaner, Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang, has a new favorite item in the form of “Pig Pole.”

Pig Pole has been introduced to the game in patch 7.30 as a neutral item.

David "MoonMeander" Tan Boon Yang, Team Undying’s support, pointed out the bizarre names and nature of the Pig Pole item.

Dota 2 commentator, Jake "SirActionSlacks" Kanner, who loves Techies, was unhappy about the reduction in damage to the hero's proximity mines.

In a tweet, OG praised the timing of the buffs to Io. Both as a carry and as a support, Io has been a signature hero of the two-time TI champions.

On the other hand, Team Secret was unhappy with Axe’s Aghanim’s Shard rework which will no longer proc Counter Helix on attacking enemies.
