In a crucial series for survival during DreamLeague Season 22's group stage 2, two familiar teams faced off against each other but it was Team Spirit who emerged victorious against OG with a 2-1 scoreline. In the first two games, both teams played quite thoroughly, securing one apiece before the third game proved to be the most competitive, with Spirit holding its own after a strong start. A top performance by Spirit's offlaner Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov on Primal Beast was key to Spirit's victories in the first and third games. While Spirit advances to the final stage of the tournament, OG is eliminated.

Team Spirit vs OG: Match recap and highlights

Recap

Game 1 had a sluggish start in terms of kills, but Spirit was able to secure one crucial teamfight victory in the transition to the mid game to grab the lead. Its heroes were inherently superior at farming and could get to item timings far faster, allowing it to extend its advantage even more. By the time OG's lineup collected some key items, Spirit had already gained a plus one, allowing the team to easily win teamfights and achieve a victory in 40 minutes.

In game 2, OG drafted a team that performed effectively against Spirit's cores, pitting Razor against Sven, Dark Seer against Dragon Knight, and Void Spirit against Puck. Spirit, on the other hand, scored critical kills with an aggressive start in the laning phase, but OG stabilized after that, thanks to tonnes of farm on all three cores. When it came to teamfights, OG had a clear target prioritization strategy, and with all three cores performing well, it was able to execute it with perfection, winning in 49 minutes.

In game 3, Collapse gave Spirit a solid start from the offlane, not only accumulating farm but also finding kills with the support of Larl's Storm Spirit. Given that OG's draft was weaker early on, these two heroes used their inherent mobility to go from one location to another, finding kills and extending Spirit's advantage to about 10k at 25 minutes. Attempts to push the tempo with Aegis on its cores were blocked by OG's superb teamfight abilities, bringing the game to almost an even footing in terms of networth, but Spirit's initial advantage had provided its cores with enough firepower to win in 43 minutes.
