The two teams had not met since October 2021, but when they did today, PSG.LGD won 2-0 comprehensively because of solid drafts and exemplary in-game understanding. The reigning TI10 champions was unable to put up too much of a challenge in either of the two games and conceded the games quickly.

Team Spirit vs PSG.LGD: Match recap and highlights

In game 1, PSG.LGD heavily outplayed Spirit in the two sidelanes. While TORONTOTOKYO played well in the midlane versus NothingToSay, Spirit was run over in the other two lanes. With a fully farmed carry Lone Druid, PSG.LGD was always on the offensive, and Spirit could do nothing except avoiding the enemy heroes in order to farm and engage later. However, bodies and towers continued to fall for Spirit and PSG.LGD easily won the first game in 29 minutes.

In game 2, PSG.LGD chose a carry Lone Druid for Ame again. Meanwhile, Spirit went back in the meta to acquire a Storm Spirit - Io pair as well as an offlane Mars. As it turned out, PSG.LGD had the upper hand in lanes and had an almost 5k advantage at 15 minutes. Storm Spirit was able to find a few kills, but as PSG.LGD began the high ground push, Spirit collapsed and lost in 29 minutes.

Here are some highlights of the series.

PSG.LGD was far stronger than its fellow TI10 grand finalists and proved to be in prime form heading into the latter part of the season. The performance of PSG.LGD and Spirit in the recent past already pointed to the Chinese team having the edge, and it proved to be true today as well.

PSG.LGD will be pleased to have started the Riyadh Masters 2022 on the right foot. With such formidable gameplay, it will be hard to stop the Chinese juggernaut if the team continues to play like it did today.

Team Spirit may have won its first series Deboosters, but it will have to face much stronger challenges against the rest of Group B's opponents. It has already fallen to PSG.LGD, and its next opponents are Team Secret and Tundra Esports.

Next in the Riyadh Masters 2022, PSG.LGD will go up against Team Secret later today while Team Spirit plays Tundra Esports on July 22.
