Team Liquid vs OG: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 saw Team Liquid decimate OG. After a calm start, Team Liquid ramped up the pressure to take one kill after another with help from Boxi’s rotations. OG, on the other hand, did not make any cohesive moves and was consistently giving away kills. The lead for Team Liquid continued to grow, and in 29 minutes, Team Liquid won the game with a whopping 38 kills against OG's 6.

In game 2, Team Liquid once again produced a commanding performance. Following the laning stage in which its heroes excelled, the team executed some excellent pickoff moves to find kills. Once again, OG was caught off-guard, which resulted in Team Liquid maintaining the momentum. Yuragi's Medusa presented little hope towards the end but Team Liquid's cores were just too powerful to overcome and OG lost in 35 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

Team Liquid entered today’s contest with great preparation and a commendable understanding of the matchup. It executed exceptionally well, not giving the opponents any room to recover. Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg, Michael "miCKe" Vu, and Samuel "Boxi" Svahn were especially dominant today, and had two terrific games.

OG only managed 16 kills today in the two games, showing the bleak situation it was in the series. While the team had been very focused and composed throughout Tour 1, today they seemed clueless on what to do. There can be no doubt that a significant part of this was also down to Team Liquid's outstanding play today.

As part of the DPC WEU 2021-22 Regional Finals, Gladiators will face Tundra Esports in the next upper bracket series. The winner will advance to the upper bracket finals against Team Liquid, while the loser will be dropped to the lower bracket to face OG. These four teams are competing in the event for the lion’s share of the $100 Thousand USD prize pool and 380 DPC points.
