Sheever is not present among the talent pool responsible for broadcasting and analyzing the games for the DPC 2023.
Sheever spoke about this recently on her livestream
She cited that she has no idea why she was not invited and also felt that this would be the case for the next season as well.

The Dota 2 community not only witnessed changes in rosters at the start of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023, but the talent pool responsible for broadcasting and analyzing the games also saw some replacements. Commentator Owen "ODPixel" Davies and host Jorien "Sheever" van der Heijden are two notable personalities who have been absent this season, and the latter recently broke her silence during a Twitch livestream. Since Sheever feels she was doing a good job, she has no idea why she is not hosting any of the six leagues in the DPC. In light of the recent circumstances, she said that she has also considered pivoting to areas other than esports.

Sheever says she has no idea why she has not been invited to the DPC 2023

A user enquired if Sheever would be seen in a DPC setup soon, to which Sheever responded with uncertainty, adding that she might not be working for the next Tour.

Her Twitch chat was curious about her absence from the hosting panel but she felt that without the larger community showing the same interest, this situation would not change.

“I have no idea. I don’t know. I did not get invited to this season of the DPC and to be honest for the next season of DPC, it’s starting to look fairly unlikely that I’ll be invited there as well. So, it’s a little bit unfortunate. I don’t know, I mean I literally have no idea. I thought I was quite good at my job. Turns out that actually does not matter.

Well, I think nothing’s gonna change if nobody really cares. Obviously, you guys are able to tell me and that’s very sweet but I am not the one making decisions, so I don’t know. Seems like the public’s been pretty okay with it which is fine.”

A moderator in her Twitch channel then mentioned how her career as a Dota 2 host is reliant on whatever tournament organizer gets to host the tournaments. According to Sheever, who agreed, this scenario has made her feel "insecure" and made her look for more diverse job options.

“That’s exactly the reason why I am looking into trying to see what else I could do outside of esports and Dota because that insecurity is just not for me anymore. I used to be able to deal with it just fine. I don’t have that anymore.”

With DreamHack/ESL, which has frequently employed Sheever, not getting any of the six regions this time in the DPC, it is likely the reason Sheever has also been on the sidelines.

While she has suggested that she would not be present in the second Tour of the DPC 2023 as well, it remains to be seen whether she will be invited to the Lima Major 2023.
