During the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, BetBoom Team will be competing with Old G's Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok as the stand-in offlaner. As the organization announced via social media, it was unable to resolve the visa issue for its carry player Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko in time, resulting in this temporary roster change. In addition, Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko, the BetBoom offlaner, will switch back to his old carry position for the Major with Resolut1on filling in as the offlaner. Following a third place finish in the Dota Pro Circuit's (DPC) Division 1 of Tour 2: EEU 2023, BetBoom had qualified for the Berlin Major.

Resolut1on fills in for BetBoom Team as Pure misses out due to visa issues

“We tried our very best, but we couldn't beat Pure's visa issues this time,” BetBoom announced the news on Twitter, thanking Resolut1on for agreeing to fill in.

As part of the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, BetBoom Team will be represented by the following players from positions one to five:

  1. Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko

  2. Danil "gpk" Skutin

  3. Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok

  4. Vitalie "Save-" Melnic

  5. Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek

In a statement on 13th April 2023, the team had stated that all players had received visas with the exception of Pure's, who they were attempting to help obtain. Unfortunately, as it turns out, the efforts made did not assist in eliminating the travel issues.

This can be a difficult situation for BetBoom considering the importance of the Major in earning DPC points, however, Resolut1on could help the team by stepping in. With early results commensurate with the hype generated when the squad was first assembled, the young BetBoom Team hasn't been able to sustain that form over time.

Aside from finishing 15th-16th at the first Major of the season, BetBoom was only third in Tour 2 and its wins have become less convincing.

Having lost steam lately, BetBoom may be able to gain some ground at the Major due to the new Dota 2 patch 7.33, which comes with a lot of changes, Nightfall playing a role he is very familiar with, and new inputs from one of the best players in the region.

BetBoom will face Team Aster, another team affected by visa issues, in its first series at the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 on 26th April, as part of Group A. The other teams in the group will be 9 Pandas, Evil Geniuses, Execration, Gaimin Gladiators, PSG.LGD, Team Aster, Team Liquid, and TSM.
