Raven Leads Fnatic to the Upper Bracket Final in the TI10 SEA Qualifier

Fnatic put on an impressive performance in the upper bracket of the TI10 SEA qualifier to take down OB.Neon 2-1. Throughout the three games, their players displayed great gameplay and spellcasting, especially in the first and third games where they were flawless. In the second game, Fnatic fought fiercely, but OB.Neon outperformed them with an unconventional, yet effective, heroes combo. Fnatic continues to maneuver through the upper bracket and is now a series win away from progressing to the grand final. OB.Neon, on the other hand, falls to the lower bracket of the TI10 SEA qualifier after this series loss.

Fnatic vs OB.Neon: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 saw Fnatic drafting its comfortable Io-Gyrocopter combo for DJ and Raven and a midlane Templar Assassin for ChYuan. With only the supports on each team taking some blows, the game was not very combative. A small lead was gained by OB.Neon, but the game went late, which led to Io-Gyro and Templar Assassin crushing their heroes. With no enough damage to fight enemy heroes, OB.Neon lost the game in 48 minutes.

In Game 2, OB.Neon drafted a mid Zeus, an offlane Leshrac, and a safelane Nature's Prophet, signaling that they wanted to play the game fast. They managed to mound a decent lead but Fnatic was able to counterplay many of their moves. At the 46-minute mark, OB.Neon finally finished off Fnatic by utilizing their buybacks to the fullest, clinching the victory.

In Game 3, OB.Neon decided to play for the late game rather than drafting according to their usual aggressive strategy. However, Fnatic played a better game during the majority of the match, cautiously securing every objective. In 41 minutes, all Fnatic players contributed to the team’s comprehensive win.

All Fnatic players looked quite coordinated in their spellcasting and teamfight execution in the series, something they had been lacking in recent seasons. Raven, in particular, had a mind-blowing combined KDA of 38-2-25 in the three games. ChYuan appears to be doing well on his midlane return while Deth is demonstrating why he is an underrated offlaner in SEA with his clutch offlane plays. With just one TI10 slot, Fnatic must continue to perform this way to make it to the grand event. Next on their list of challenges would be the winner of TNC Predator vs BOOM Esports.

In the first two games, OB.Neon had its iconic aggressive gameplan in place but opted not to use it in the third. In the third game, they seemed to be outdrafted, with Yopaj’s midlane unable to do much as the sole playmaker. OB.Neon will now look to re-evaluate their drafts and prepare for the lower bracket match on 2nd July 2021, against Execration.
