Unironically, Gaimin Gladiators lost the game after Quinn's antics.

On the last day of the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai group stage, Gaimin Gladiators played against Virtus.pro in a best-of-two series. During the series, Quinn "Quinn" Callahan surprisingly flipped off the Virtus.pro players and made derogatory gestures. The reasons behind such gestures remain unknown but it is possible Quinn was just being playful as he was seen smiling in the VOD. Unironically, after Quinn flipped off the Virtus.pro players, Gaimin Gladiators lost to Virtus.pro and the series ended in a draw.

Quinn Makes Questionable Gestures at Virtus.pro Players

Quinn is arguably known as one of the most toxic players in the Dota 2 pro scene. He is also one of the most vocal players. On 8th February, Gaimin Gladiators played Virtus.pro and won the first game of the series. Before the start of the second game, Quinn could be seen showing Virtus.pro players the finger which was then followed by some more questionable gestures.

Dota 2 commentator and caster, Ricky "rkryptic" Peterson commented that it was “Classic Quinn.” Co-host Nikola "hairy_freak" Babić, on the other hand, said he was waiting for the barrage of memes that would be made out of this incident.

Although Virtus.pro ended the series with a draw, the players were not ecstatic about the results as it was already decided that Virtus.pro would be eliminated from the tournament. Virtus.pro exited the tournament with a 9th-12th place standing and took home $20,000 USD.

Earlier in the tournament, Quinn found himself in the middle of a “no-handshake” drama with Team Liquid’s Neta "33" Shapira. While the community speculated about the reason for 33’s surprising behavior, Quinn brushed it off. He said that it was not a big deal and it was only a best-of-two series. He also said he understands if people don’t want to shake hands after a best of two.

Team Liquid’s coach William "Blitz" Lee also commented on this drama and jokingly tweeted, “People making a drama out of the 33 situation, really is no issue, we simply just hate Quinn.”

The Gaimin Gladiators mid-laner gets his fair share of the spotlight. Sometimes it portrays him in a good light while other times, he’s at the center of controversies. Readers should note that Quinn has a playful character and it is highly likely that he meant no malice behind those gestures and only did it for fun.

On another note, Gaimin Gladiators has successfully made its way onto the playoffs and looks to be one of the stronger teams in the tournament along with Xtreme Gaming and Team Spirit. You can track BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai playoffs easily on our event hub where we update scores and schedules.
