Soniqs officially announced the signing of Quincy Crew on 2nd August and the team will represent North America in the PGL Arlington Major this week.

After a long wait of three years, the Dota 2 squad of Quincy Crew has finally been signed by an organization. On 2nd August, Soniqs Esports officially confirmed that it has entered its sixth esport title after acquiring Quincy Crew’s Dota 2 team. Quincy Crew last played Team SoloMid (TSM) on 31st July in the North American (NA) qualifiers for the ESL One Malaysia Dota 2 tournament and conceded the series with a close 3-2 score. Now, the team will compete under the banner of Soniqs and will represent North America in the PGL Arlington Major which is scheduled to kick off on 4th August.

Soniqs releases statement

Dota fans will be reintroduced to Quincy Crew as Soniqs when the team competes in the upcoming PGL Arlington Major this week. On 2nd Aug the organization posted a short video on social media announcing its entry into the competitive scene of Dota 2.

Soniqs CEO Darren “Tribizzle” Moore said, “We’re always looking for new ways to expand the organization. Picking up Quincy Crew made perfect sense for us. We’re adding another championship-caliber team to our organization and we’re excited to prove ourselves in a new esport.

Quincy Crew’s long search for an organization bears fruit

Quincy Crew has been on the lookout for an organization for quite a few years now. The team has seen organizations come and go since its inception as a stack in 2018. Quincy Crew was last signed as a part of Chaos Esports Club in 2019 but unfortunately, it was let go quickly thereafter due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Regrettably we must make significant changes to our business in the aftermath of the pandemic that is currently affecting the world. Due to the suspension of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit, we will be releasing our Dota 2 roster in its entirety,” Chaos Esports Club said in a statement on its website. Following this, Quincy Crew took part in The International 10 (TI10) under its own banner.

On signing of the Quincy Crew roster, team manager Jack “KBBQ” Chen said in a Twitlonger, “I'm proud to announce that Quincy Crew will be playing as the Soniqs for the Arlington Major - and through at least the conclusion of this year's International!

He added that the core of Quincy’s Dota 2 roster has played together under several banners over the years and that the team finally found the right blend of people, values, and conditions at Soniqs.

With their support, we've just wrapped up a solid bootcamp in Philadelphia (our first time together all season) and are excited to represent North America in Arlington,” stated KBBQ.

Soniqs Dota 2 roster

The Dota 2 roster of Soniqs Esports that shall be competing in the upcoming PGL Arlington Major is as follows:

  • Adrian “Fata” Trinks - Captain

  • Jack “KBBQ” Chen - Manager

  • Quinn “Quinn” Callahan

  • Rodrigo “LESLÃO” Santos

  • Yawar “YawaR” Hassan

  • Arif “MSS” Anwar

The PGL Arlington Major brings the best teams across the world against each other, playing for a $500,000 USD prize pool and crucial TI qualification points. The results of this tournament will decide if Soniqs directly makes it to TI 2022 or if it moves on to the TI Last Chance Qualifiers.
