PSG.LGD’s hot form continues in 2021 as they have thrashed Elephant by a 3-0 margin in the OGA Dota PIT Season 5: China grand finals. By winning this series, they avenge the loss they suffered to Elephant in the grand finals of the previous season of the OGA Dota PIT. Elephant, who had been undefeated in series throughout this tournament, was utterly outplayed today as PSG.LGD played at its best. As seen throughout the event, PSG.LGD’s hero picks appeared to be quite bizarre, but their choices, strategies, gameplay, and map maneuvers were simply flawless in the fifth season’s grand final.

PSG.LGD vs Elephant: Match recap and highlights

Recap

Game one saw PSG.LGD annihilate Elephant with in-meta core picks such as a safelane Templar Assassin, offlane Broodmother, and a mid Invoker, alongside an unusual position five Mars. PSG.LGD used the potency of these heroes, played this map exceptionally well, and won in 29 minutes.

In game two, PSG.LGD picked a midlane Tinker while sticking with a safelane Templar Assassin. The first 15 minutes were spent farming cores by both teams, but PSG.LGD proved to be more efficient after that. Elephant fought back repeatedly but only came out with negative numbers, losing the game in 30 minutes.

In game three, Elephant had a decent start, finding farm as well as securing some important kills. However, their draft forced them to play aggressively, which led to some bad ganks. After this, things went downhill for Elephant as they kept losing fight after fight. In 26 minutes, they were out of the game.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

It was seemingly easy for PSG.LGD to beat Elephant, a squad that had not lost a series until the grand final and was looking as clean and competent as ever. Being in its prime currently, PSG.LGD seems to understand the game and map movements in the most comprehensive way, giving them an advantage over its opponents.

PSG.LGD had defeated Evil Geniuses 3-0 in the grand finals of the WePlay AniMajor as well.

Despite not winning the title, Elephant will be pleased with how they have been performing recently. After failing to qualify for the two Majors, Elephant changed its position five player, and since then, the team has been in sublime form. The team won The International 10's China qualifier and now finished second at the OGA Dota PIT Season 5: China.

While Elephant will compete in the i-League 2021 S2 from 18th August 2021, PSG.LGD will compete in the ESL One Fall 2021: Bootcamp Edition from 21st August.
