OG Secures Division I Safety with Dominant Victory in WEU DPC
OG, one of the most renowned names in Dota 2, has successfully avoided relegation to Division II in the Western Europe (WEU) Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) after a commanding 2-0 triumph over D1 Hustlers. Despite a disappointing start in the DPC Tour, where they suffered several losses, OG displayed its resilience and fighting spirit, just as they did in Tour 2, where they made an extraordinary comeback to qualify for the Berlin Major 2023. Unfortunately, their hopes for a similar resurgence were dashed when Quest Esports secured the final spot for the Bali Major 2023 with a 2-0 victory over Team Liquid. However, OG managed to retain its Division I slot by securing a convincing victory against D1 Hustlers in a must-win series.
OG's Miraculous Performance and Division I Safety
Following a lackluster run in the DPC Tour 3: Division I, OG found themselves in a precarious position, needing a victory to ensure the team’s continued participation in Division I. With its star support player Tommy "Taiga" Le returning from a break due to mental health issues, OG showcased its true potential against D1 Hustlers. In a dominant display, OG swept the series 2-0, securing its safety and reaffirming its competitive prowess.
Entity and D1 Hustlers Battle to Avoid Relegation
Entity, once considered one of the stronger teams in the region, had good performances in the previous DPC Tours, securing a top-four finish at the end of Tour 1 and even qualifying for the Lima Major 2023. However, the team’s momentum faded, and they failed to qualify for both the Berlin Major 2023 and Bali Major 2023. Now, Entity finds themselves in a fight to avoid relegation into Division II, facing tiebreakers against D1 Hustlers.
D1 Hustlers emerged from Division II with dominance, but its performance in Division I has been lackluster. With only two series victories, one against Quest Esports and one against Entity, D1 Hustlers find themselves tied with Entity for the bottom two positions. The upcoming match on 5th June will determine which team will be relegated to Division II, intensifying the pressure on both sides.
OG's triumph over D1 Hustlers secures its position in Division I of the WEU DPC, allowing the team to regroup and set its sights on future tournaments, and more importantly, The International 12. However, Entity and D1 Hustlers face a critical battle to avoid relegation, with one of these teams destined to be relegated to Division II alongside Secret. The ever-changing landscape of the Dota 2 competitive scene showcases the challenges and tenacity required for success, making each match a thrilling contest with high stakes.
