After having parted ways with Team SMG on unfortunate terms, Michael "ninjaboogie" Ross Jr. has taken to Twitter to call out the organization and its Dota 2 captain, Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng for staying silent on the issue. Ninjaboogie tweeted "I kinda wanna poke the silent bear" following which he noted in the comments section that he was amazed that his now-former Team SMG teammates had not sent any condolences or apologies despite having played together and after having experienced success through tournaments.
Ninjaboogie had initially claimed he was kicked from Team SMG due to his mother's stage 4 cancer diagnosis, as the team felt that it would impact his performance. At the time of writing, Team SMG has not addressed any of ninjaboogie's allegations.
Ninjaboogie expresses his dissatisfaction with Team SMG Dota 2's silence
In response to a user asking in the comments section why he wishes to poke the "silent bear," Ninjaboogie expressed his curiosity about the team's lack of empathy considering that the team had won many trophies together.
Ninjaboogie also specifically called out MidOne, claiming that he hated him. “Except midone i don't care about that guy,” he wrote. A different comment he made explained why he disliked MidOne, saying, “He had the audacity to empathize with me in multiple talks about him and his father situation. Yeah i hate that c**t.”
Ninjaboogie then mentioned Team SMG's offlaner Ryan "Raging Potato" Jay Qui, saying he had also not reached out to him since he got kicked, although he had sent a message a week before asking for help.
Ninjaboogie's latest tweets follow around 10 days from the day he separated from Team SMG. He had then claimed that he asked for some extra time to get to bootcamp because of his mother's condition. Nevertheless, Ninjaboogie claimed that the team met without him during which the decision to remove him was made. “Imagine being fired from a job because you are about to lose a loved one,” he had then stated.
Across the entire esports community, there has been a massive outpouring of anger towards Team SMG over this, but the organization has remained silent about it, not making any statements.
While it has not been officially announced who will replace Ninjaboogie in the position five role, Johan "pieliedie" Åström, popular European player who has been teamless for some time, has been added to the Team SMG roster on Valve’s Majors Registration Page.
