Since the addition of Yuma "Yuma" Langlet and Kasra "Mikey" Mesbah, Nigma Galaxy has not experienced a complete reversal of its fortunes. However, the team has demonstrated strong gameplay at times, indicating that greater consistency could lead to better results. Nigma's coach Park "March" Tae-won spoke about his thoughts on Yuma and Mikey following their victory against ex-Monaspa in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2023 Tour 3: Division II. As March mentioned, there are still some areas of improvement for Yuma and Mikey, but the other experienced members are assisting with their knowledge.
March says Yuma and Mikey are learning from others on Nigma’s team
After it was pointed out to March during the post-match winner's interview that Nigma has been on and off lately, he stressed that the core players are critical to the team's success, and with Yuma and Mikey having little professional experience, they are being taught to call better consistently.
“I mean they have their parts. In Dota 2, at the end of the day, a lot of the time it requires its core players to finish the games, they make a lot of calls. They do definitely make a lot of mistakes we are trying to help them out and tell them from our experience - this is this, you need to step up here and be brave, you need to make a call here - those kinds of stuff.”
In addition to Yuma and Mikey joining Nigma recently, March has also only been with the organization since March 2023. During the interview, he highlighted the importance of fostering a positive camaraderie with his teammates, stating that it should be a key focus for any coach.
“I just try to be good friends with the players to keep a good mood. But that is another important job of a coach. So, I guess I try to do that but this is an important job of the coach as well, I guess.”
March's priority at the moment would be to assist Nigma finish in the top two of the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3: Division II which has proven to be quite difficult this season, and return to Division I. The team has only one series remaining against Alliance on 27th June 2023, and a win will help boost the chances of securing promotion to Division I.
