The OG's Monkey Business Show Episode 13 featured N0tail discussing some of Team Secret's current issues and its future.
According to N0tail, Team Secret's players have great potential, but he doubts whether they can unleash it together and perform at their peak level.
So far, Team Secret's star-studded roster has not performed up to expectations in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22, placing fifth in Tour 1 with middling results in the ongoing Tour 2.

In the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22, Team Secret's star-studded roster has so far not met expectations, placing fifth in Tour 1, with a middling performance currently in Tour 2. While discussing the performance of teams in the Western Europe (WEU) DPC, Johan "N0tail" Sundstein, former OG captain who has often faced Team Secret in the past, pointed out some issues with Team Secret's player and leadership roles. Despite the difficulties, N0tail noted that the Team Secret players have a great deal of potential, but he was skeptical about whether the team could reach its full potential for The International 11 (TI11).

N0tail believes Team Secret's current roster is very unlikely to win TI11

The OG's Monkey Business Show Episode 13 featured N0tail, joined by OG comrades Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and JMR Luna, discussed the performance of various WEU teams in Division 1 of Tour 2.

Ceb asked N0tail his thoughts on what the current Team Secret roster could accomplish in the future, and N0tail outlined some of the problems that are potentially preventing the team from achieving its potential.

“They have a lot of potential. I am very worried about how some of their laning phases tend to go. We can see some signs that you can interpret as really bad. They switched around their roles once and SumaiL was drafting for like - a week or two. Now the drafting position is back on Puppey, I think. But I think they did the right thing with the role change.”

During the last couple of weeks, Team Secret went from drafting being undertaken by captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov to then being undertaken by Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan and now seemingly back to Puppey. Additionally, the team has played its five series in Tour 2 with SumaiL playing in the safelaner position and Michał "Nisha" Jankowski playing as the midlaner. Originally, the roster had SumaiL as its midlaner and Nisha as its safelaner since November 2021.

N0tail further said he felt the motivations and potential of Team Secret players but he was not sure if they can come together in various ways to become a solid team. According to N0tail, a good team is one that can win TI "reliably," but he did not know if Team Secret could become such a team.

“Honestly, I think the motivation is there from everyone. What I doubt is whether or not they’ll have the tools to kind of peak as a team. I think they can share ideas, I think they can become really good at Dota but my question would be - Can they become a really good team. And I am always going to be in that boat. You need to become a good team if you want to win TI reliably. I am not sure if they have it. Does that mean you can not win TI? No, I just think it’s very unlikely. And does that mean you cannot do well at TI, no you probably can do easily Top 5.”

In 2022, Team Secret has had uneven performances, looking good at times but failing to put up a strong showing at others. As a result, it has finished in the middle of the points table in different tournaments. In Tour 2, the team has two wins out of five series. In its last two series, it will face Nigma Galaxy and Entity, and if it wants a strong chance at making it to the Stockholm Major, it needs to win both of these series.
