The Bali Major 2023 is ongoing with the group stages providing fans with some exciting Dota 2 games. Western European (WEU) teams are showcasing their dominance once again, being at the top of each of the groups.

However, the tournament has also witnessed the rise of a hero who has seemingly taken over the tournament in every single game. With only 2 days of the group stages taking place so far, there have been a considerable number of games played so far. In each of these games,  Morphling emerged as the most contested hero, being either banned or picked in every single one of the 64 games that have taken place so far.

A new broken hero in the meta?

Out of all the matches played so far, Morphling was picked in 29 of the games with an impressive 55% win rate. However, the teams at the Major also understood its strength in the current meta, banning Morphling a total of 35 times. The popularity of this hero at the tournament speaks volumes about its versatility and impact in the game, making it the most contested hero at the Bali Major 2023.

Morphling's Pick and Ban Rate At Bali Major 2023

While Morphling has been picked or banned in every single game at the Bali Major, the hero’s winrate is still not as high as others in this tournament and in other tournaments, such as Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer at Dreamleague Season 20.

Dreamleague Season 20's Dominant Heroes: Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer

While the Bali Major 2023 showcases Morphling's prominence, the recently concluded Dreamleague Season 20 had seen the rise of two other heroes that left a lasting impression.

Anti-Mage and Phantom Lancer were the two dominant carry heroes in the tournament, highlighting a high winrate at the tournament. Anti-Mage had an astonishing 86% win rate over 15 games and Phantom Lancer followed closely at 76.9% over 13 games.

As the Bali Major 2023 continues to unfold, the dominance of certain heroes becomes apparent. Morphling has emerged as the most contested hero, being picked or banned in every single game of the tournament so far. While the tournament is still in its early stages, only time will tell whether the meta will change moving forward or if Morphling will continue to be a highly contested hero at the event.
