Undying’s MoonMeander will compete at The International (TI) for the first time since 2016 when he attended the grandest Dota 2 stage with OG. The recently concluded TI10 NA Qualifier saw Undying best 4 Zoomers 3-0 in the grand finals, after which David "MoonMeander" Tan came for a post-match winner's interview, discussing his feelings on the qualification. After a long hiatus of four years, he was elated and excited to return to TI. MoonMeander explained how they felt a sense of relief after having been so close to beat teams like Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew during the two seasons of the DPC 2021. He also spoke about how he would use his experience from previous TIs to help his relatively young team going into TI10.

Undying's MoonMeander talks about his feelings after qualifying for TI10

MoonMeander was overcome with happiness after he and his team qualified for TI10. As he spoke about his feelings, he recounted the hard road Undying traveled in this DPC season to finally reach TI.

Man, it’s a great feeling because I have been trying to do this since TI7 (Digital) Chaos with w33haa and Misery. I missed that one, I missed the one after and the one after that, and finally I am back again. It’s been a long journey for me. I am so happy and grateful for all my teammates. Sticking together with me for the whole year even though we were like one game away from getting to the first Major and then again one game away from going to the tiebreaker in one of the toughest regions to play. Now people are gonna meme, yeah my tier 2 teams are maybe not as good as other regions and are not as close but the top teams of this region - EG top three at every Major, Quincy Crew top six at the Major. It’s not easy to get to the Major and we do not have a wild card slot. So, finally, one TI slot, no Quincy Crew, no EG, we worked all year for this and it feels so damn good to go to TI finally.”

As a stack, Undying was formed in the DPC 2021 with players from the EU, NA, and SA region. With veterans like Moonmeander and DuBu from NA, along with young talents such as Bryle from NA, Timado from SA, and SabeRLight- from EU, the team has continued to stick together. In the entire TI NA qualifier, Undying did not drop a single match to emerge victorious and earn that coveted TI10 slot.

Now that the team had qualified, MoonMeander continued in the interview by discussing what he would tell his team at TI with all the ups and downs he has experienced in the past. Having played in three different regions - EU, NA, and SEA - he noted that he had gained insights and experience from them.

I am gonna tell my team no matter what happens at this TI - do your best, have no regrets because I had some regrets at some TIs and I told myself if I am ever in this position again, I know what I need to do from now on, I know what kind of team atmosphere I am going to bring in my team, I know what I am going to do to band them together and I am not going to make the same mistake twice and I am going to bring them to the same mental level as I am, that’s what I am going to do."

Having qualified for TI10, Undying now seeks a Dota 2 organization.

TI10 is scheduled to begin on 5th August, 2021, assuming Valve is able to find an alternative for Sweden in time to host it.
