In order to continue performing well in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Eastern Europe (EEU) 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1, Team Spirit has employed a lot of hero strategies and combos. Almost all of them have been impressive, with the team losing just one series out of the eight they've played since The International 10 (TI10). After the team's most recent victory over AS Monaco Gambit, the team's captain Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov was asked to comment on the reasoning behind using such a multitude of heroes in different games. While noting that there was no particular reason for this, Miposhka went on to make a humorous remark about Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov's hero choices, saying that he has chosen heroes such as Magnus and Spirit Breaker because he wanted to be a driver.
Collapse plays heroes like Magnus since he had a dream of becoming a driver, Miposhka remarks hilariously
Team Spirit has continued to be a force to be reckoned with, even after TI10, as the team brings the best versions of its different strategies to the table. Drafting against Team Spirit’s players has been quite a headache for opponents because all team members have shown that they are strong on a variety of heroes.
Miposhka explained in a post-match winner's interview after the fourth consecutive series win in the DPC that it was not a deliberate decision to pick different heroes in the games; they were just picking who was needed at the time. In addition, Miposhka also had a humorous remark to share about his offlaner.
“Not really [on continuing to pick new heroes], we [are] just picking what is good for us. For example, Collapse, he had a dream, he wants to become a driver and so, we are picking Spirit Breaker or Magnus for him. That’s it.”
Although Team Spirit players had a wide range of heroes at their disposal during TI10, Collapse's picks were regarded as being limited to Magnus, Tidehunter, and Mars. During the past month, however, he has displayed his potential on other heroes such as Spirit Breaker and Centaur Warrunner.
Much of Team Spirit's versatility can be attributed to the fact that all of their players play a considerable amount of pubs and therefore have the required proficiency on a number of heroes.
In the DPC EEU 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1, Team Spirit now has four wins under its belt and is looking to finish in the top spot. Its strongest competitor in the league currently seems to be HellRaisers, who has also won four series in a row. On 16th Jan, the winner of this matchup will confirm a spot in the first Major, so it will be interesting to see if HellRaisers can contend with Team Spirit's versatile drafting and high-level gameplay.
