Ahead of the DreamLeague Season 22, Aurora announced Armel will not be playing for the team due to some personal reason
AFK Gaming's sources were able to confirm that Team Tickles' Lorenof will be standing in for Aurora at the tournament.

The BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai started the competitive Dota 2 calendar with a bang. Team Falcons finally won its first tier-1 LAN tournament. Now, the Dota 2 community is already looking forward to the next big tournament which happens to be DreamLeague Season 22. This tournament is slated to kick off on 25th February.

Ahead of the DreamLeague Season 22, Aurora announced that its mid-laner, Armel "Armel" Tabios would not be able to play in the tournament due to some personal reasons. However, Aurora has still not announced which player will be playing in place of Armel.

AFK Gaming has learnt that Artem "Lorenof" Melnick of Team Tickles will be standing in for Armel at the DreamLeague Season 22.

Aurora Gears Up for DreamLeague Season 22 with a Stand-In

Aurora had a disappointing run at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai and exited the tournament in the group stage with a 9th-12th place finish. Looking forward, Aurora managed to qualify for the DreamLeague Season 22 after an intense 3-2 showdown in the Southeast Asian (SEA) qualifiers against Carlo "Kuku" Palad’s Team Darleng.

However, on 18th February, Aurora announced that Armel would be unable to play at the DreamLeague Season 22. Aurora took to X (formerly Twitter) and announced, “Armel will not be joining the team for Dreamleague S22 as he has personal matters to attend to back at home. He will be supporting Aurora from the sidelines for #ESLProTour 22. We send him our best wishes.”

According to our sources, Artem "Lorenof" Melnick of Team Tickles, who currently sits at rank 10 in the European region, has been confirmed as the stand-in mid-laner for Aurora to participate in the DreamLeague Season 22. Although Lorenof has not found much success in the professional scene, with a win rate of 61% in the last 41 games, the mid-laner is a force to be reckoned with. He has found his groove with heroes like Puck, Storm Spirit, and Templar Assassin.

However, unlike BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, DreamLeague Season 22 is an online tournament and Aurora’s Dota 2 roster is based out of Southeast Asia. It will be interesting to see how Aurora will adjust to the mid-laner and perform at the DreamLeague.
