The ESL One Berlin Major 2023 is the second Major of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season which is all set to happen in Berlin. With the Lima Major turning out to be an exciting tournament and The International 2023 (TI12) getting steadily closer, teams will be looking to stack up as many DPC points from the season's second Major.
The Berlin Major is scheduled to kick off on 27th April and will conclude on 7th May. Apart from the $500K USD, teams are also vying to claim the majority share of the 2700 DPC points available to make it to TI12.
Notably, the Berlin Major will see the top 18 Dota 2 teams from across the globe fighting on the international stage to claim the title of champion and also walk away with the lion’s share of the tournament prize pool and points.
Let us take a closer look at all the teams that have punched their way to the upcoming Berlin Major.
Who’s participating in the Dota 2 Berlin Major in 2023?
Just like the Lima Major, 18 top teams from different regions will be attending the Berlin Major 2023. While the Western Europe (WEU) and China (CN) regions will send their top four teams, Southeast Asia (SEA) and Eastern Europe (EEU) will be represented by their top three. Additionally, there will be two teams each from North America (NA) and South America (SA). However, only the top six teams will advance to the stage at Velodrom arena where they will go head-to-head in front of a live crowd.
Since the Division I of Tour 2 DPC is still in play in its final week, only some teams have locked in their slots at the Major.
Talon Esports and Team SMG were one of the first teams to qualify for the tournament after a sensational performance in the DPC SEA 2023 Tour 2: Division I. Notably, this tournament will be Team SMG’s first-ever Dota 2 Major. Coming to Talon Esports, it was very likely that it would lock in its slot since the team is one of the favorites in the region and it also placed third at the Lima Major. There is only one spot left for grabs for the SEA teams at the Major.
