LGD Gaming announced publicly taking a temporary break from competitive Dota 2 and will sit out the upcoming Elite League.
The decision comes amid various speculations against the organization, who officially state that the reason was its poor performance in recent Dota 2 tournaments.
LGD Gaming mentioned that it would be going through a roster change and looks forward to participating in future Dota 2 events.

Amidst rumors of bankruptcy and allegations of unpaid salaries and bonuses, LGD Gaming announced it would be going on a temporary hiatus. The Dota 2 organization from China also announced that it would be dropping out from the upcoming Elite League and go through a roster adjustment due to its poor performance in recent events.

LGD Gaming shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on 29th March 2024, Friday, where the organization stated that once it was satisfied with the roster adjustment then it would start participating in Dota 2 tournaments once again.

LGD Gaming Announces Temporary Hiatus Effective Immediately

Due to the team’s performance in recent events. After an internal meeting, the team decided that from 29th March onwards, the LGD Dota 2 team will temporarily enter an intermission period, during which the team will not participate in the recent Elite League event.

However, LGD Gaming clarified “After the new lineup adjustment is completed, we will participate in the follow-up tournament.”

LGD Gaming further noted that it was disappointed to announce such dismal news to its fans who follow the organization closely, “We are very sorry to bring such a decision to the fans who continue to follow us.

Lastly, LGD Gaming added that it would be actively adjusting their lineup to keep track of tournaments. This sorrowful message from the organization comes when rumors and speculations are rife about LGD Gaming allegedly going bankrupt.

Notably, earlier today, the Dota 2 Reddit witnessed a rumor surface about LGD Gaming’s alleged disbandment which spawned from an alleged text from LGD Gaming’s coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning on the organization's WeChat group for fans.

The message reportedly said that LGD Gaming has now officially disbanded and the team had their last meal together which was paid for by the team captain Zhang "y`" Yiping.

The post further reported that RuRu confronted former LGD Gaming player, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi for making ‘false allegations’ against the organization and threatened legal action, which was met by retaliation from Chalice.

Chalice retaliated by bringing up the point of unpaid dues that he was owed by the organization that amounted to 100,000 RMB (~$13,849.65 USD).

While the rumors of bankruptcy and disbandment were not confirmed, a major roster change can be expected as per the official notice from LGD Gaming.
