Sébastien "Ceb" Debs the legendary stand-in for OG has officially joined the roster as a player.
The announcement comes shortly after the Riyadh Masters 2023 concluded, where the team welcomed the “old man” to the roster.
The team will now have to regroup and focus on The International 12 open qualifiers, where they face stiff competition.

In a (un)surprising turn of events, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, the iconic stand-in for OG, has made headlines once again by officially rejoining the team, but this time not as a stand-in, but rather as an official player. The announcement came shortly before the conclusion of the Riyadh Masters 2023 where Ceb took on the role of a stand-in, filling in for Evgenii "Chu" Makarov in the position 5 role. Although the team had an underwhelming performance, it looks like the organization has decided that Ceb is its best choice moving forward.

Ceb no longer a stand-in, officially part of OG once again

OG took to Twitter to express their excitement at having Ceb back in the fold. The team's official account welcomed the "Old Man" with open arms, acknowledging his legendary status with the team. Another announcement, accompanied by a video, stating "Retirement is just THAT boring," basically stating Ceb's desire to return to the competitive scene as a player.

Ceb has a storied history with OG as their go-to stand-in when needed. Despite not being a full-time player, he has achieved remarkable success with the team in the past. Notably, he played a crucial role in OG's victory at the ESL One Stockholm Major in 2022 and helped secure a commendable 4th place finish at the PGL Arlington Major in the same year. However, his most recent stint at Dreamleague Season 20 did not yield the desired results, with OG finishing in a disappointing 13-14th place.

OG's journey at the Riyadh Masters 2023 ended in a similar 13-14th place finish, raising questions about the team's ability to perform on the international stage. However, with the official announcement of Ceb's return as the position 4 player, OG now has the opportunity to regroup and refocus its efforts on the biggest event of the year, The International 12 (TI12).

As Ceb officially joins OG as a player, a new chapter begins for both the legendary stand-in and the renowned organization. Fans are eagerly anticipating Ceb's impact in the position 4 role and how the team will synergize with his return. With TI12 on the horizon, OG faces the challenge of competing through the open qualifiers, where they will have to face some of the toughest competition. The Dota 2 community eagerly awaits the next chapter in the tale of OG and Ceb, as they work towards securing a spot at TI12.
