Filipino Dota 2 players' travel woes have not yet ended as some of them are still reportedly stuck in Romania after having participated in The International 10 (TI10). Fnatic's Team Director, Eric "ReiNNNN" Khor, posted an update via Twitter on 21st Oct 2021 mentioning that while both T1 players, Carlo "Kuku" Palad and Karl “Karl” Jayme, were able to get a flight back to the Philippines, the rest of the Filipino members could not. This update came forth after Paolo Bago, the performance coach of Fnatic and also one of the members stuck in Romania, indicated through a tweet on 20th Oct 2021 that flights were available for other members as well. Bago’s tweet, however, now stands deleted.

ReiNNNN tweeted that Karl and Kuku made it through to the flights without encountering any issues. In contrast, when other members of the group, Djardel Jicko B. "DJ" Mampusti (Fnatic), Marc Polo Luis "Raven" Fausto (Fnatic), Abed “Abed” Azel L. Yusop (Evil Geniuses), and Paolo Bago (Performance Coach, Fnatic), attempted the same the following day, they were denied boarding, as per ReiNNNN. He said that he had sought assistance from a couple of institutions.

Kuku announced in a Facebook post that he was back in Manila, Philippines, and had begun a 14-day quarantine.

ReiNNNN had tweeted on 19th Oct 2021 that the Filipino TI10 group, consisting of players and a staff member from three different teams, were stranded in Romania. As ReiNNNN described, this issue arose because the flights for these individuals were booked for 18th and 19th Oct 2021, but on 16th Oct 2021, the Philippines placed Romania on their Red List.

As a follow-up to ReINNNN’s 19th Oct tweet, Bago announced in a series of tweets the next day that three members of the TI10’s Filipino group, including Kuku and Karl, were flying home to the Philippines. Furthermore, he indicated that there were flights coming back for the remaining five members as well. All tweets were later deleted.

Bago had also mentioned in his tweets that some coordination issues had prevented them from boarding the flights, even though they are cleared for entry into the Philippines as per the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

TI10 was held in Bucharest, Romania from 7th to 17th Oct 2021, without a live audience. Romania was the only country to be placed on the Red List by the Philippines after the former noticed an upsurge in virus cases in the past weeks. The Advisory from the Philippines, that puts Romania on the Red List, came into effect on 16th Oct and shall last until 31st Oct 2021.
