Daryl "iceiceice" Koh has announced that he will be taking a break from competitive play.
In a recent livestream, The Singaporean offlaner stated that he wanted to focus on livestreaming after his stint with Team SMG.
Iceiceice was previously signed by Team SMG for the TI11 Southeast Asian (SEA) Regional Qualifiers, however the organization was unable to register its roster in time.

While some players are looking for a new home during the roster shuffle season, others are planning to take a break as Daryl "iceiceice" Koh announced that he will be taking a hiatus from the competitive scene. In a recent livestream, the Singaporean offlaner stated that he would like to focus fully on live streaming and other such activities following the conclusion of The International 2022 (TI11).

Iceiceice spent the majority of the season playing for Team Secret, before being dropped in favor of Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok. Following his exit from the team, he was picked up by Team SMG for the TI11 Southeast Asian (SEA) Regional Qualifiers. However, that did not go according to plan.

Iceiceice to move away from the competitive scene

In a recent livestream, iceiceice revealed that he will be taking a break from the competitive scene for the upcoming season as he wanted to think about his life choices going forward, as well as focusing on his streaming career. He also stated that he made the decision to take a break following his short time with SMG, saying that the roster registration incident for the Regional Qualifiers was a disaster.

“So the plan was like this. After what happened with SMG, I was like ‘Yeah, I’m going to take a break’ and figure out what I want to do. Like I wanted to take a longer break and think about what I wanted to do, like streaming Dota or other games and just chill and enjoy life. Because what happened with SMG was kind of sh**ty I guess.” said iceiceice.

Daryl "iceiceice" Koh is very well known for his comedic antics as well as his skills as a veteran offlaner, having been a part of a team in four different regions. At the start of the 2021/2022 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, iceiceice was picked up by Team Secret from Evil Geniuses. However, following the team’s lackluster performances throughout the season and the rise of Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok as a stand-in at Riyadh Masters 2022, iceiceice left the team to return to SEA.

In August, iceiceice was picked up by Team SMG in an effort for the organization to qualify for its first ever TI from the regional qualifiers. However, the team was unable to register its latest players in time, which resulted in its omission from the regional qualifiers, making them ineligible to compete.

While iceiceice did make it to TI11 as part of the creative content group, Team SMG announced that it has released iceiceice from its active roster following the conclusion of the DPC season.
