After announcing the departure of Johan "pieliedie" Åström and Ryan "Raging Potato" Qui, Team SMG has finalized its roster for the upcoming The International 2022 (TI11) Regional Qualifiers as they announced the arrival of Daryl “iceiceice” Koh and Wilson "poloson" Koh to bolster their lineup. Team SMG are expected to be one of the teams to challenge for the sole invite in the TI11 Regional Qualifiers with the likes of Fnatic, Talon Esports & T1. Iceiceice & Poloson joins Team SMG, replacing Pieliedie & Raging Potato.

For the teams that didn’t manage to qualify for a direct invite to TI11, this is their final chance to revamp their rosters for the upcoming regional qualifiers. Southeast Asia is no exception, as Team SMG announces in a video that they have signed offlaner Iceiceice & hard support Poloson for the upcoming qualifiers after pieliedie departed from the roster & Raging Potato was benched.

Before the roster shuffle, Iceiceice was playing for Team Secret during the Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22 before parting ways with the team and being replaced by Roman "Resolut1on" Fomynok. On the other side, Poloson spent two DPC tours with Nigma Galaxy SEA before moving to China to play with YBB Gaming for DPC Tour III, a Division II team which ended up getting eliminated from the division itself.

Team SMG announced the newest additions on Facebook, where it was portrayed as more of a comedy announcement video where Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng was watching his past achievements before being surprised by Iceiceice who was trying to get a drink, and poloson who invited Iceiceice into the team house.
