OG placed fourth at ESL One Birmingham 2024.

As a young team, OG has had a tumultuous competitive season in 2024, with both highs and lows, but it reached its peak at ESL One Birmingham 2024, where it placed fourth. In an interview at the event, captain Sébastien "Ceb" Debs spoke about the strengths of each young player on the squad. According to Ceb, Enzo "Timado" Gianoli has tremendous talent, while Matthew "Ari" Walker possesses a niche set of skills. He compared Adrián "Wisper" Dobles' raw skill and personality to former teammate Anathan "ana" Pham with whom he won two The Internationals. Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov, according to Ceb, is the best midlaner.

Ceb shares his thoughts on the young talent within OG's roster

According to Ceb, as the new OG roster develops and grows into a stronger group of players, each member offers something unique despite their youth.

“The team is young because Timado has joined recently. Incredibly talented player, I think. Very well spoken, very smart, very easy to build around which is rare in a carry. Ari - great instincts. I want to call him a niche player because he’s a specialist in what he does and it changes a lot, amazing teammate.

Wisper is just raw quiet skill and talent. He reminds me so much of ana, it’s crazy. He’s like a South American ana. Bzm, I think the best in the world in his position, absolutely amazing. Honestly like role to role, he’s like close to perfection in terms of what you can expect from somebody playing a certain role in Dota. He just gives you everything you could ever ask for as a team leader.”

In addition, Ceb added that he is satisfied with the team's performance so far and that the team has a lot more potential that can be tapped into.

At the same time, there has also been an obvious lack of stability in the team as at one end, it has managed to defeat Team Falcons 2-0, something that hardly anyone has been able to do this season, and on the other, even failed to progress past certain qualifiers.

At the time of writing, OG is not scheduled to play in any events for the next few months. It is currently in the top eight of the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) standings and will be hoping to remain there to lock a direct invite to the Riyadh Masters 2024.
