During a recent Twitch stream, Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski shared his thoughts on why Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov, the carry player for Entity, is ranked number one and not Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi, who is regarded as the Nigma Galaxy star. He pointed out watson’s communication skills, drafting, itemization, and leadership qualities and noted them as reasons why watson deserves his rank. Miracle- currently is at rank 28 in the European Dota 2 leaderboard.
Gorgc Highlights watson’s Skillsets
In a recent Twitch stream, Gorgc divulged into the topic of what makes watson deserve rank one over Miracle-. One of the key factors that he stated was communication skills. Gorgc noted that while Miracle- may not be one of the best mechanically skilled players compared to the top players, he also certainly does not talk much in-game. According to Gorgc, “Yapping [Communication] is also part of being rank one.”
Gorgc said it would be insulting to say Miracle- is better than watson in terms of mechanics. He further added to watson’s credit by saying, “Watson is also much better at things. He's good at picking heroes, he's good at playing the heroes the right way, building the right item builds, uh, and telling his team what to do sometimes, you know. He's just good at everything that takes [for] winning a pub.”
watson is arguably one of the most dominant pub players as he has been ranked number one for almost a year now. He is currently the carry player for Entity. Although he is a dominant force in public games, he hasn’t found much success in the Dota 2 pro scene. Entity notably, finished 17th-10th at the Riyadh Masters 2023 and 9th-12th at the International [TI] 2023. The team also failed to qualify for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023.
Meanwhile, Miracle- took the community by storm recently after Nigma Galaxy announced his official return to the active roster. He is one of the fan favorites of the community and he has been often regarded as the G.O.A.T [Greatest Of All Time] in Dota 2 esports. He is also a TI champion, winning the coveted title in 2017 with Team Liquid. Although he may not be rank one, being rank 28 is still no small feat considering his return to Dota 2 after his year-long hiatus.
