Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022 format
In the Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022, the group stage will begin on 2nd March where the 10 teams shall be split into two groups of five teams. Played in a round-robin format with Bo1 series, the group stage will end on 3rd March. The top two teams in each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, the third and fourth places advance to the play-in round, and the last place team is eliminated.
The winners of the play-in stage, held on 3rd March, will then move to the lower bracket of the playoffs.
There will be a total of six teams competing in the playoffs (four from the group stage and two from the play-in stage). The playoffs begin on 4th March and will last for three days, with the grand final taking place on 6th March. All series are best of three except for the grand final, which will be best of five.
In the last couple of years, there have been some Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) LAN events, including the Singapore Major 2021, the WePlay AniMajor, and The International 10 (TI10), but there has not been a third-party organized LAN event engaging the best teams from around the globe. The Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022 will be the first event of this kind since March 2020's DOTA Summit 12 which was held in Los Angeles.
More details are likely to be announced in the near future regarding the Gamers Galaxy: Dota 2 Invitational Series Dubai 2022, including the prize distribution, time schedule, and more. The tournament leads up to Tour 2 of the DPC 2021-22, which begins on 14th March.
