Filipino Dota 2 Casting Icon, Dunoo (Kuya D), Has Passed Away

Aldrin Paulo "Dunoo" Pangan (also known as "Kuya D"), one of the most renowned Filipino Dota 2 casters, has passed away due to complications caused by COVID-19. The Filipino caster had been trying to beat the deadly virus for some time, posting updates on Facebook where his condition appeared to be deteriorating. Dunoo's peers, however, reported today, on 27th August, 2021, that he had lost the battle to COVID-19 and had passed away. Dunoo, along with Marlon “Lon” Marcelo are well-known for their catchphrase ‘Lakad Matatag, Normalin Normalin,’ which was embedded into Dota 2’s chat wheel voice lines.

In a Facebook live broadcast on 17th August, 2021, Dunoo revealed the state of his health. Afterward, he posted text updates. During this time, he talked about the importance of oxygen and pointed out that he had barely slept. He mentioned, in particular on 15th August , that he had tried to get into a hospital recently, but that it was full.

Numerous Dota 2 personalities and teams have expressed their sadness and condolences after Dunoo’s passing.

Together, Dunoo and Lon had casted a game between Fnatic and Team Secret at ESL One Katowice in February, 2018. They generated some of the most fascinating moments to hear during this game, which made their way into Dota 2's chat wheel in The International 8 (TI8)’s Battle Pass. In addition to ‘Lakad Matatag, Normalin Normalin,’ there were four other popular chat wheel lines recited by the two casters during the Secret vs Fnatic game, that include the following:

Now, the Dota 2 community is asking for ‘Lakad Matatag, Normalin Normalin,’ to be immortalized and be permanently added to the Dota 2 voice lines.
