ESL One Malaysia 2022 is likely going to be the last international Dota 2 event featuring top teams before the caravan moves towards The International 11 (TI11) qualifiers in September and the main event in October. During ESL One Malaysia 2022, 12 teams from around the world will compete for the biggest chunk of the $400,000 USD prize pool in the Arena of Stars at Resorts World Genting from 23rd to 28th August. The matches will be shown live on ESL's Dota 2 Twitch channel, which can be found at https://www.twitch.tv/esl_dota2. Because more than one series will run simultaneously during the group stage, there will also be broadcasts on ESL's other Twitch channels.

The official English broadcast talent, comprising 16 personalities, of ESL One Malaysia 2022 was announced on 15th August.
The ESL One Malaysia will be held in Genting Highlands, the same location where the ESL One Genting was held in 2017 and 2018. The event will serve as a testing ground for teams such as Team Secret, Alliance, and Nigma Galaxy seeking to acquire some match practice before the grueling qualifiers, as well as a chance to get some prize money and try out some different strategies for teams such as OG and Fnatic that have already have secured their TI11 tickets.
