Dota 2 action continues to flow this year as the top Dota 2 teams have already begun competing in Tour 3 of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) shortly after the conclusion of the Berlin Major 2023. It was a surprising start for the DPC Western Europe (WEU) 2023 Tour 3: Division I as Entity, which has looked subpar of late, resoundingly defeated the in-form Team Liquid. Despite the odds being stacked against the Entity, the team showed it understands the meta with its intelligent picks and won by 2-0 in less than an hour. At the same time, Team Liquid played the series with a stand-in as Samuel "Boxi" Svahn was unavailable.

Entity vs Team Liquid: Match recap and highlights

Recap

In game 1, both teams went for safe picks, but in the laning stage, Entity had the advantage and capitalized flawlessly. Entity was able to kill Nisha five times in the laning stage via support rotations, thus closing down his game. With the team's other lanes likewise failing, Liquid only achieved three kills before tapping out after 21 minutes.

In game 2, Entity selected a support Clinkz, drawing inspiration from pubs where the hero has performed well in all roles. In the game, the hero performed far better than expected, finishing with a 12-5-13 KDA. At the same time, watson got off to a good start on Slark in the safelane, and a teamfight win for Entity at the 12 minute mark laid the groundwork for the rest of the game. Liquid's draft lacked synchronization, and Entity's heroes, who were slippery, used this to their advantage in a game full of skirmishes and won in 28 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

At the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I, Entity has gotten off to a majestic start after looking patchy for two seasons. It has taken down not only one of the strongest teams in the region but the world as well. As far as picks were concerned, it was ahead of Liquid in terms of adaptability while Liquid appeared to be following the trend established at the Berlin Major.

Liquid might have lost the first series, but with The International 12 (TI12) already booked, the team shouldn't be too disappointed. Additionally, Maroun "GH" Merhej was the stand-in support in the absence of Boxi, who is expected to be joining the team soon.

In the next series for the two teams, Entity plays Tundra Esports while Liquid goes up against Team Secret on 17th May.
