BSJ opined that Valve gave the Dota 2 community fake hope and released a mediocre patch.

After months of waiting, the Crownfall Update is finally out and it saw the introduction of new arcanas, treasures, and much more. While the update took everyone by surprise as the community was expecting to see the release of Dota 2’s new hero The Ringmaster, it seems like Valve is delaying this for some other time.

The community had a mixed reaction to the release of Crownfall and many pros, talents, and personalities along with the Dota 2 community took to social media to voice their opinion on the new update.

While some were happy with what they got, others were sour about no gameplay update, and some even said that the community should be more grateful as whining about the patch did no good for anyone.

Dota 2 Community Reacts to New Crownfall Update

The Dota 2 community had a mixed reaction to the Crownfall Update and took to social media for voicing their opinion on the new update.

BSJ

Popular Dota 2 streamer and content creator Brian "BSJ" Canavan was unhappy with the new update and voiced out his frustration during a recent live stream.

He pointed out that Valve set the expectations for the Crownfall update as a major update and lots of changes along with a new hero but failed to deliver.

Wagamama

Fellow Dota 2 streamer and content creator Niklas "Wagamama" Högström was also unhappy with the update and said it felt like Valve was after his wallet and not after delivering a good patch.

Quinn

Gaimin Gladiators midlaner, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, however, had a different approach to the update and urged the community to stop complaining about the patch.

He said things are only made worse when the community starts complaining and that Valve has no incentive to listen to the community, stating that Dota 2 makes only about 1% of Valve’s revenue and could care less.

Tundra

Dota 2 organization Tundra Esports also voiced its disappointment about Valve not releasing a gameplay patch and took to X to share the following meme.

Admiral Bulldog

Dota 2 streamer and content creator Henrik "AdmiralBulldog" Ahnberg took to X and expressed his discontent with a simple “Clownfall.

He also mocked Quinn for his earlier tweet and copy-pasted Quinn's tweet.

Torte De Lini

Popular Dota 2 Guide maker Torte De Lini took to X and said contrary to the community’s reaction he felt that the update was really good.

While the community had a mixed reaction to the update what do you think? Was it a good update? Or did Valve give us false hope like BSJ said?
