1win Series Day 3 Recap: With the conclusion of group stage, the top four teams played the semi finals of the tournament.
Virtus.pro and Team Spirit clashed in a best of three series followed by Team Liquid vs Entity
Virtus.pro and Entity shocked the community and upset two of the biggest Dota 2 teams.

In a day filled with high-octane matches and unexpected strategies, the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring playoffs kicked off with a bang. Two Eastern European giants, Virtus.pro and Team Spirit, clashed in an intense semi-final battle, while Entity and Team Liquid squared off in a clash of titans, each fighting for a coveted spot in the grand finals.

Virtus.pro Slays The Dragon: Finally Ends Losing Spree

In the first match of the semi-finals, Virtus.pro finally managed to end its losing streak against Team Spirit. The former had lost 8 series in a row to the two-time TI champions prior to this best-of-three series.

The first game saw Virtus.pro’s Ilya "squad1x" Kuvaldin shine brightly on Storm Spirit, displaying a masterclass in mobility and engagement that left Team Spirit scrambling for answers. Despite Team Spirit's innovative use of a support Terrorblade for Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov, hoping to leverage the buffed Reflection skill, Virtus.pro’s coherent strategy and Squad1x’s dominance paved the way for their victory in the series opener.

The sequel was no different, as Team Spirit’s aggressive draft fell short against the tactical prowess of Virtus.pro. Squad1x, switching to Pangolier, continued his rampage, turning the tide with critical plays that ultimately led to a Team Spirit defeat and secured Virtus.pro’s spot in the grand finals.

Entity Upsets Team Liquid

The underdogs of the tournament, Entity, faced off against the formidable Team Liquid in a series that will be remembered for its bold choices and stunning execution. The first game featured an audacious Pudge carry by Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov, which, against all odds, tore through Team Liquid’s lineup. This daring strategy not only caught Team Liquid off-guard but also showcased Entity’s deep strategic depth and willingness to defy conventional Dota 2 meta.

The second game had a similar story, Doubling down on their aggressive playstyle, Entity introduced a Meepo carry in the second game, further punishing Team Liquid’s greedy draft. Although Liquid held it better than game 1, it was still not enough as Entity snowballed into a commanding win and with precise execution and a relentless push, secured a decisive victory, earning them a spot in the grand finals against Virtus.pro.
