One of the highest-rated Dota 2 players in the world, Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov, recently received heavy criticism for the way he played Terrorblade from multiple Chinese players including Lu "Somnus" Yao, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi, Zhou "Yang" Haiyang, and Yu "皮球" Yajun.
The incident occurred on 9th April 2024, Tuesday, during Entity's match against Azure Ray at the ongoing Elite League.
Watson was particularly scrutinized for his skill build on Terrorbalde by the Chinese quartet, who called him out for not leveling up Reflection and instead opting to put level points in stats.
Chinese Dota 2 Players Poke Fun at How Watson Played Terrorblade During Entity vs Azure Ray at Elite League
In the current patch, where the Dota 2 community is bearing witness to support Terrorblade due to its buffed Reflection. Entity’s watson who played the hero as carry against Azure Ray at Elite League, held back from levelling up Reflection and opted to get buff by prioritizing stats instead.
Chinese players formerly associated with Azure Ray, Vici Gaming, and Team Aster heavily criticized this highly questionable build.
The group consisting of Somnus, Chalice, Yang, and 皮球, poked fun at this rookie build by Watson, who is one of the highest-rated Dota 2 players in the world.
Somnus even went as far as to comment that since watson plays too many pubs, he does not think much about his skill build and his brain is functioning on auto-pilot.
Yang also questioned the build and pointed out that the enemy team had a Dragon Knight with an Aghanim’s Scepter, who would be at a disadvantage given the massive amount of damage it would receive from Terroblade’s Reflection.
Chalice was the first to discover the weird skill build on Watson’s Terrorblade and said that even though the player was sitting on 13.5K MMR, the build was a newbie move.
The reason behind this harsh assessment was due to the buffed Reflection skill that would have been of greater help to Entity considering its high damage output, a good enough reason for some professionals to pick it as a support.
Chalice said, “Playing against DK and not maxing Reflection? Kills me, man. He's just climbing the ranks doing the same old thing, like a one-trick pony. Doesn't even get how the game's supposed to work. Just a matter of time before he throws the game.”
Chalice, who was heavily disappointed with Watson’s skill build further stated, “He’s grabbing Attribute points over Reflection, thinking it's just some casual pub game where he can tank through everything cause pub players can't even cast their spells on him right.”

The match between Entity and Azure Ray ended in favor of Azure Ray at the 42nd-minute mark, as Entity threw the game with a poorly executed skirmish near the Roshan pit and watson’s Terrorblade was caught while trying to flee which led to a four-man wipe for Entity and a win in favor of Azure Ray.
