In the latest edition of OG’s Monkey Business podcast, the duo of Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and Johan "N0tail" Sundstein recently discussed their new team’s plans for the upcoming season.

Many fans of the old iteration of OG were ecstatic following the announcement of a new team called Old G in the final weeks of the roster shuffle season, as the team featured three out of the five founding members in Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen , N0tail & Ceb. Additionally, the team also consisted of two active professional Dota 2 players in Volodymyr "Noone" Minenko & Arif "MSS" Anwar.

Despite currently playing in the Closed Qualifiers of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Winter Tour in Western Europe (WEU), the duo of N0tail & Ceb found some free time to talk about the team’s plans for the upcoming season should they qualify in the latest episode of OG’s Monkey Business podcast.

N0tail started off by saying that the team remains committed to playing for their own entertainment as nobody within the team wanted to play on the highest level for the time being.

“I mean, we're trying to keep it down low until we start playing [seriously]. Because it's like this year, I don't think any of us are trying to commit to winning because it means you have to sacrifice everything. So we're instead just kind of committing to the hobby [of playing Dota 2] and committing to the memes. I would say having fun, being part of jokes and meeting some new teams in the lower division are our current goals.”

Ceb added on by saying that the team is particularly looking forward to dethroning Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski’s Team Bald Reborn who are currently seen by many as the kings of the second division of the WEU DPC.

“I don’t know if Gorgc is upset, because I previously said that we’re looking to beat Team Bald Reborn. But he made himself like the king of Div II and then Alliance got involved since they’re also looking to avenge their loss against Gorgc in the TI11 Regional Qualifiers. It just made you want to be a part of the chaos really, like “I challenge you, Team Bald for the kingdom of Div II.”

N0tail ended the conversation by saying that he is looking forward to facing Nigma Galaxy eventually, should their paths align in either divisions.

“That’s the first step of the route [defeating Team Bald Reborn in Division II] and then we’ll see from there. It’ll be fun to play against Nigma Galaxy too, getting games against Nigma I think eventually because I know they’re currently back in Division I. But should we get promoted to DIvision I or the opposite happens, it’ll be interesting since there is no pressure from us.”

As of now, Old G are one series away from qualifying to Division II of the 2023 DPC Winter Tour in Western Europe. However, based on the caliber of the lineup alone many are expecting to see Old G to qualify easily into Division II.
