Aurora announced South Korean Dota 2 coach Lee "SunBhie" Jeong-jae as the new Dota 2 coach.
SunBhie took a two month hiatus but has returned to the same group of players he mentored at Talon Esports last year. Aurora had signed the former Talon Esports roster ahead of the 2024 competitive season.
The coach's recruitment comes only a few days before Aurora's first LAN tournament of 2024, BetBoom Dacha Dubai.

Aurora has announced that South Korean Dota 2 coach Lee "SunBhie" Jeong-jae has joined the organization after taking a break from competitive play for the past few months. SunBhie returns to the same group of players he coached in 2023 when they represented Talon Esports before being signed by Aurora before the start of the 2024 competitive season. The recruitment of the coach occurs at a crucial moment as the team gears up for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, with another event in the form of DreamLeague Season 2024 lined up at the end of the month.

“We are pleased to welcome our new coach - @SunBhieDota! We're in for an unforgettable journey,” Aurora wrote on Twitter.

The following players make up Aurora's Dota 2 roster, including the South Korean coach.

  1. Nuengnara “23” Teeramahanon

  2. Armel “Armel” Paul Tabios

  3. Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong

  4. Worawit “Q” Mekchai

  5. Chan “Oli” Chon Kien

In November 2023, SunBhie announced he would dedicate his time to "some stuff" as he stepped away from competitive Dota 2. Having taken two months off, he rejoins the same group of players.

As the coach of Talon in 2023, SunBhie has achieved strong results not only domestically, but also internationally, including third place finishes at the Lima Major and Riyadh Masters 2023, despite a disappointing 9th-12th place finish at The International 2023.

SunBhie, one of the most successful SEA coaches, has previously led teams like Team Secret and Fnatic. Between 2017 and 2019, he played in a key role in guiding Secret to establish dominance in the global Dota 2 scene, securing victories in DreamLeague Season 8, the Chongqing Major, and the MDL Disneyland® Paris Major. From 2019 until 2022, he was a part of Fnatic's incredible run during the Dota 2 online season in 2020.

As it stands currently, the beginning of the 2024 competitive season has been quite inconsistent for Aurora. SunBhie will be looking to bring stability to the team, making a return similar to last year when Talon emerged as one of the best teams in the region. The first challenge for Aurora will be the BetBoom Dacha event where it finds itself in Group A with the first series set against Virtus.pro on 4th Feb 2024.
