Tundra Esports coach and TI5 winner Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling recently appeared as a guest on Duncan "Thorin" Shields’s podcast.
While talking about his old memories with different teams throughout his career in the Valve MOBA scene, he also talked about Team Secret’s captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov impact as a positive five.
The TI5 winner had nothing but praises for the player as the latter tends to contribute massively to his team.

Tundra Esports coach and The International 2015 (TI5) winner Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling was recently invited as Duncan "Thorin" Shields’s latest guest on the latter’s Reflection podcast. While Aui_2000 was mostly talking about his time with different teams and players that he had played with throughout his professional career with Thorin, he also discussed with Thorin about the impact that Team Secret’s captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov has as a position five player.

While Tundra Esports were recently crowned as champions of The International 2022 (TI11), Puppey and Team Secret made headlines as they became one of the teams that defied all odds as they achieved second place at TI11 from the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Aui_2000 had nothing but praises for the TI1 champion

Recently, Thorin had the opportunity to interview Aui_2000, who had recently became the first Dota 2 person to win The International as both a player with Evil Geniuses in 2015 and a coach for Tundra Esports in 2022. on his podcast, Reflections. The duo mostly talked about Aui_2000’s journey throughout his professional career, playing with well-known names such as Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao and Syed "SumaiL" Hassan to name a few.

However, Thorin also asked Aui_2000 about the latter’s thoughts on Team Secret’s captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov as a position five player as he had previously played with The International 2011 (TI1) winner in 2016 as Team Secret’s substitute player and coach. Furthermore, Thorin wanted Aui_2000 to explain Puppey’s impact as a hard support as the role tends to have the least resources available to them during a game.

Aui_2000 explained that Puppey’s timing with his spell-casting abilities is impeccable, as the latter never missed an opportunity to turn things around for his team. Additionally, he also pointed out that Puppey tends to have an impact with his playstyle as he can give back to the team if given enough resources.

“I feel like when I’m watching Puppey play, he will be very patient with his timing. People tend to miss opportunities within a game most of the time but not Puppey. There’s also this Team Secret playstyle, where Puppey would be given some resources to work with in the game and then provides a massive impact. Like, while Puppey is a natural five, he plays more like a position four support when he plays lane pushing heroes [such as Chen]. But obviously it’s still impressive to watch him after his long career, as he currently has so much success with his current team.”

Despite having came second in the latest iteration of The International, Puppey remains as one of the most successful Dota 2 players in the scene, having won several Majors and TI1 while also remaining as the only player to have actively competed in every iteration of The International.
