Aui_2000 Explains Why He Felt Happier Winning TI With Tundra Compared to EG

Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling recently talked about the difference between winning The International as a player with Evil Geniuses & as a coach for Tundra Esports on OG's Monkey Business podcast. Aui_2000 became the first person to achieve the milestone of winning The International (TI) as both player and coach.

During the current off-season, Aui_2000 along with Neta “33” Shapira were invited as the latest guests for OG’s podcast where they would talk about Tundra’s recent TI journey amongst other things with podcast co-hosts Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and OG CEO JMR Luna.

Aui_2000 felt happier winning TI with Tundra Esports than he did with EG

On the latest episode of OG's Money Business Podcast with Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and OG CEO JMR Luna, Tundra Esports coach Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling was asked by JMR Luna if there is any difference between winning The International with Evil Geniuses at The International 2015 (TI5) and Tundra Esports at The International 2022 (TI11).

Aui_2000 started off by saying that he had explained in depth about the difference between winning TI with EG and Tundra Esports on his blog that he had released a month ago while explaining the situation about the removal of Adrian "Fata" Trinks from the team.

However, he then said that his TI championship win with EG at TI5 felt more like a business opportunity, rather than a group of friends coming together as the team at the time were desperately looking for new players following the departure of Artour "Arteezy" Babaev & Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg to Team Secret. 

“I think TI5 EG felt more of a business, than a group of friends coming together. We basically have like some high-skilled players come together & PPD was the captain while SumaiL was like three steps ahead of all of the other players at the time.”

He also explained that during his time with Tundra Esports, he managed to share his ideas with the team and bonded well with them. Additionally, he stated that his TI11 win as a coach felt more well-deserved than his win as a player at TI5.

“The difference between that team and Tundra, is that I felt like the team and the players grew together and we all shared our ideas while improving each other. So, I feel a lot happier with this win [at TI11]. It felt a lot more earned from my perspective than some team coming together late due to a roster change."

Tundra Esports will start the upcoming season in the first division of the WEU DPC 2022-23 with its entire roster intact.
