ATF Adds To the Ongoing Handshake Drama at BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai
On the first day of the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, Neta "33" Shapira made headlines after refusing to engage in a customary post game handshake with Gaimin Gladiators players. While the reason behind his bizarre behavior remains unknown, the whole incident was dismissed by Quinn "Quinn" Callahan on X. However, a few days later, Dota 2 pro Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf seems to have jumped on the trend of not shaking hands and refused to fist-bump his own teammate Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak. This happened right after Team Falcons won the first game of the series against Virtus.pro.
ATF Back In His Element: Refuses Handshake, Drops Mantle of Intelligence Against Virtus.pro
At the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, ATF seems to be back in his element of being a toxic king. The Jordanian player disrespected Virtus.pro players after winning the second game of the series by dropping “Mantle of Intelligence,” in front of the base. This move is ATF’s signature move as no other pro does this except him. Virtus.pro called GG after Ammar dropped multiple Mantles of Intelligence in front of its base.
Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski who was spectating the game, commented that “It’s pretty funny cause they called GG after the mantles, you know? To make it even worse.”
ATF's other notable moment occurred after Team Falcons won the first game against Virtus.pro. Team Falcons’ mid laner Malr1ne got up in excitement after game 1 and tried to fist bump ATF but they both shared an awkward 3-second staredown while ATF left Malr1ne hanging.
Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu who noticed this weird interaction between ATF and Malr1ne quickly offered a fistbump to Malr1ne. This could have been deliberate and it could very well be the case that ATF wanted to add his share to the ongoing Reddit discourse of not shaking hands.
Notably, before BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai kicked off, ATF named Quinn and Sébastien "Ceb" Debs as better trash talkers than he is. With these latest incidents, ATF is surely on his way to steer clear of Quinn and Ceb with his "BM."
ATF never fails to shock the Dota 2 community with his innovative, toxic ways and may go down as one of the most toxic Dota 2 players. Only time will tell what this young Jordanian player has in store for the Dota 2 community in the coming days.
