ArsZeeqq Silenced After Chu Wins ESL One Malaysia 2022 With OG

As it had happened a few months ago, Mind Games coach Arsenii "ArsZeeqq" Usov accused OG captain Mikhail "Misha" Agatov of recruiting their coach Evgenii "Chuvash" Makarov (also known as "Chu") because of their friendship. As per ArsZeeqq's opinion, Chu was neither well versed in Dota 2 nor good at communicating. Despite subduing quickly back then, this statement flared up recently when Chu played a key role in OG's win at ESL One Malaysia 2022 as a stand-in. The community and Dota 2 personalities began to fire shots at ArsZeeqq, causing him to change his words and declare Chu a "god."

In a tweet on 28th August, a simple reversal of opinion was what ArsZeeqq had in mind when he responded to the criticism regarding his statement on Chu. “Chu god, me trash confirmed,” he stated.

In May, ArsZeeqq had been extremely critical of Chu as the coach of OG, in a comment for escorenews. In his view, Misha needed a Russian speaker to discuss strategies, and since the team's carry Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev understood Russian but wasn't very adept at drafting and strategy, Misha turned to his “buddy” Chu for help. ArsZeeqq had also mocked Chu's ability to communicate in both English and Russian.

While OG was lifting the trophy after winning ESL One Malaysia, Aydin "iNSaNiA" Sarkohi, who was on the English panel, noted what ArsZeeqq had said about Chu a few months earlier. As iNSaNiA mentioned to Jorien "Sheever" van der Heijden after viewing Chu's performance, it was noted by the panel that Chu had actually silenced all the haters.

As a support player for OG at a top-tier LAN event, having little experience playing in official games in the last year, Chu exceeded expectations by not only being consistent throughout the tournament but also making some outstanding plays, particularly in the playoffs. It was impressive how he positioned himself and that he had a tendency to come at the right time and at the right place. At the end, OG won by a 3-0 scoreline against Team Aster in the grand final of the event.

A Reddit thread even popped up where the community began to poke fun at what ArsZeeqq had said a few months back. Former OG members also did not hold back from expressing their views.

After showing his skills as a support player, Chu will now turn his focus to coaching the team ahead of The International 11. Even with the recent visa issues, Misha is likely to be able to attend TI11, given the long break between now and then.
