During the post-match winner's interview after PSG.LGD's grand final win over RNG in the China Regional Finals, Wang "Ame" Chunyu shared his thoughts on the upcoming 7.31 patch.
In the current patch, Ame is irked by how much time heroes from both competing teams spend in the midlane. As a result, he is pushing for the midlane's removal in patch 7.31.
Dota 2 patch 7.31 will be live on 23rd Feb and will bring a "host of changes" to the game.

The Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 in China continues to be dominated by PSG.LGD, which topped the China Regional Finals by taking down Royal Never Give Up (RNG) 3-1. PSG.LGD's beloved carry player Wang "Ame" Chunyu, who keeps a low profile, came for the post-match winner's interview during which he expressed his opinion on various aspects, among which was his wishlist for the upcoming 7.31 patch. Ame expressed exasperation over how important the midlane is compared to the other lanes, wishing Valve would simply remove the midlane in the 7.31 patch.

Ame wants the midlane to be deleted in patch 7.31

Three days remain until Dota 2 patch 7.31 goes live, and as Valve explained in a recent tweet, there are going to be a host of changes. The patch has generated many wishlists from Dota 2 personalities, but Ame's wish was bizarre and at the same time, hilarious. “I want Icefrog to delete midlane. I don’t want to see six heroes in the middle and playing like a…and making it a battleground. I want them to add a jungle there,” he said.

A great deal of importance has been given to the midlane in the early stages of the ongoing patch. The top teams put a considerable amount of effort into defending their respective tier 1 midlane towers in comparison to the tier 1 towers of the side lanes.

Furthermore, having already formed some ideas of his carry role, Ame said he will read the patch notes once the update is out on 23rd Feb to know what he will be able to do.

During the grand final of the Regional Finals, PSG.LGD won three games in a row to win after it had lost the first game to RNG. Ame jokingly explained how the team turned things around after being 1-0 down. “First game I was playing Kunkka and I felt like I couldn’t do much in that game. I feel like our progress to the vacation was delayed by one game,” he said.

With the victory in the grand final, PSG.LGD remained unbeaten in series in the first Tour of the DPC 2021-22, winning a total of 550 points and moving to the top of the DPC rankings. Although Ame said that he was not specifically thinking of the points when playing in Regional Finals, he was happy to earn as many as possible.

While Ame joked that the team turned things around in the grand final so it could begin its vacation early, PSG.LGD will be back in competitive Dota 2 in just two more days when it competes in the OGA Dota PIT Season 6 against some of China's best from 22nd Feb. Ame and his team will finally have some time to relax once the tournament ends on 28th Feb; they will then be back at full strength for Tour 2 of the DPC on 14th March.
