The community waits in anticipation as Yatoro and Ame will face each other on 5th February at the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai group stages.

Russian YouTuber Ultimate Dota sat down with Chinese Dota 2 star Wang "Ame" Chunyu for a rare interview, ahead of the BetBoom Dacha 2024 in Dubai. The interview, whimsically titled “Ame blink if you were forced to do an interview,” offered fans a glimpse into the camaraderie and mutual respect that exists between Ame and two time TI champion Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk.

Ame Talks About Yatoro and His Gesture

Ame, the celebrated carry for Xtreme Gaming, recently made a comeback from his 'retirement' and is all set to participate in his first Tier 1 Dota 2 tournament since his hiatus. When asked about the player he respects the most within the Dota 2 community, Ame's answer was swift and sincere: Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk of Team Spirit.

This could have been due to the long and storied history between the two.

In a heartwarming nod to Ame ahead of The International 2023, Yatoro had adapted his gamer tag to include the kanji character 雨, which resonates with Ame's real name 煜, and retained this moniker through Team Spirit's triumphant victory at the tournament. This gesture was not just a personal tribute but also immortalized Ame's influence in Dota 2 lore, engraving his namesake into the Aegis of Champions.

Asked about his feelings toward this unique honor, Ame expressed a stoic demeanor, stating he had "no particular feelings" about Yatoro's gesture.

The dynamic between Ame and Yatoro is a fascinating subplot in the Dota 2 narrative, especially as their respective teams, Xtreme Gaming and Team Spirit, are slated to clash in the group stages of the BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai.

It will be interesting to see who comes out on top, after this clash of the titans.
