Team Liquid has finally bled and it has come at the hands of perhaps the most bloodthirsty team in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 1021-22 Tour 1: Division 1 currently - Nigma Galaxy. Despite losing the series opener by a narrow margin, Nigma Galaxy showed up today by making a strong comeback. Captain Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi stepped up the drafting by a great deal in the second and third games, and then his teammates executed those strategies brilliantly to secure two resounding victories and the series by a 2-1 score. Nigma Galaxy has now won three consecutive series in the DPC WEU.

Nigma Galaxy vs Team Liquid: Match Recap and Highlights

Recap

Game 1 saw Nigma Galaxy draft a lineup with a mid Doom, safelane Queen of Pain, and an offlane Spirit Breaker. The team did find some crucial kills thanks to the high tempo lineup, but had poor tower push to capitalize on it. Additionally, iNSaNiA was playing a support Treant Protector and continually healing the towers, making it possible for Team Liquid to keep an even standing. In a major teamfight, Miracle- made an error by not pressing BKB before blinking in, which led to him dying without the buyback. Team Liquid took a risk by taking the Barracks and going for the Ancient, but it paid off as the team won in 42 minutes.

In game 2, while Nigma Galaxy chose some out of meta heroes such as a safelane Juggernaut and an offlane Bloodseeker, they fared well against Team Liquid's heroes. Playing the laning stage to perfection, Nigma Galaxy went off to an early lead and kept the aggression up by picking off pickoffs and taking down towers. Even after giving it all it could, Team Liquid failed to secure any significant results, losing its Ancient in 32 minutes.

Game 3 saw Nigma Galaxy once again come out on top during the laning stage to establish an early advantage. MinD_ContRoL took over the net worth game on the offlane Outworld Destroyer by zoning out MATUMBAMAN from the lane, as well as farming effectively. Similar to the second game, Nigma Galaxy relentlessly hunted down Team Liquid's cores, preventing them to harvest any sort of farm. After multiple failed attempts to fight back, Team Liquid finally tapped out of the game in 35 minutes.

Highlights

Here are some highlights of the series.

It’s admirable that Nigma Galaxy has managed to bounce back after losing its first three series in the league in a pretty poor manner. The emotion has switched from being a likely relegation candidate to being a contender for one of the four major spots. In the team's last series, it will take on the weakest team in the league, COOLGUYS. If Nigma Galaxy wins, it would complete its win-loss record at 4-3, a solid one when it comes to qualifying for the Major.

Considering that it has already booked a lot at the Major, Team Liquid won't be too bothered by today's loss. In terms of drafting, the team was a bit short, but in terms of gameplay, Nigma Galaxy was a lot superior and outplayed them in the second and third games.

Nigma Galaxy’s final series in the league will come against COOLGUYS on 15th Jan while Team Liquid plays Alliance on 18th Jan.
