OB.Neon has made a massive roster move ahead of the TI10 SEA qualifier by removing position 4 player PlayHard- from its Dota 2 roster. OB.Neon communicated through its social media handles that they had reached a mutual decision to part ways. Additionally, the organization thanked him for his contributions through the years. Prieme Ejay "PlayHard-" Banquil who occupied the position four role had played more than 1500 games for the team, having joined way back in 2018 for the first time. The roster change is likely a result of the Filipinos' dip in form after their astounding performance at the Singapore Major. OB.Neon is yet to announce the replacement of its departing position four player.

OB.Neon listed the notable achievements the team achieved with PlayHard- in his farewell message.

OB.Neon’s updated roster:

  1. John Anthony "Natsumi-" Vargas
  2. Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer
  3. Ryan "Raging Potato" Jay Qui (stand-in, Rolen Andrei Gabriel "skem" Ong will return for the TI10 SEA qualifier)
  4. TBD
  5. Jaunuel "Jaunuel" Arcilla

Earlier today, Moon Studio Asian Showdown had concluded with OB.Neon taking first place. Former South Built Esports player, Michael Roi "Enryu" Ladines, was seen playing as the team’s offlaner while captain Skem, who had been on a break, was seen playing as the soft support. It is possible that this change will become permanent in the coming days.

PlayHard-, meanwhile, moves on after a significant period of time in the team. After joining for the first time in March 2018, he spent more than a year before parting ways in April 2019. He rejoined the team in September 2019 and has played for the team ever since, either in the offlane or in the position four role.

PlayHard- played a pivotal role in Neon Esports’ rise to dominance as the team finished second in the first DPC season and then performed incredibly well in the Singapore Major where they finished 5-6th. A poor performance in the second season prevented the team from qualifying for the AniMajor. OB.Neon also did not appear to be playing to its maximum potential in third-party tournaments.

That said, OB.Neon will now have its eyes set on the TI10 SEA qualifier which is scheduled for June 30 - July 3, 2021. It is going to be a fierce battle between teams like Fnatic, Motivate.Trust Gaming, TNC Predator, BOOM Esports, Execration, and more as only one will prevail and book a TI10 ticket.
