Team Nigma had just started its first game against Virtus.pro in the WePlay AniMajor upper bracket when its players surprisingly left their chairs. After a long pause, the game was then postponed since Team Nigma’s midlaner, Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi was suffering from a health problem. The English panel of the Major reported on livestream that Miracle- had suffered from food poisoning and hence was unable to play as he was being treated by medical personnel. WePlay Esports later communicated that Miracle- was feeling well and was ready to play, and it was announced on the livestream that the series between Nigma and Virtus.pro would be played on the same day.
Team Nigma and Virtus.pro’s upper bracket clash was in the first few minutes of the first game one when Team Nigma left the stage, leading to an extended pause. WePlay Esports provided clarification on the issue via its Twitter handle, stating that the delay was due to a health issue with Miracle-. While a doctor helped Miracle- deal with the problem, the next scheduled series between Quincy Crew and NoPing e-sports would be played, they added.
Additionally, the tournament organizer stated that the players' health was of utmost importance, so the decision to postpone Team Nigma vs Virtus.pro was taken.
Team Nigma also sent a tweet, updating its fans on the matter. They also thanked Virtus.pro and WePlay Esports for “agreeing to postpone the series.”
Previously, game 2 of the series between Team Nigma and Team Secret in the wild card of the Major was also replayed with the same draft, same starting items, and lanes after the server had crashed.
