  • WePlay Esports has arranged a private flight for the four Chinese teams that are to compete at the AniMajor which now solves all their travel problems.
  • The private flight will not only bring the Chinese teams to Kyiv but also take them back to China.

WePlay Esports has arranged a private flight for the four Chinese teams that are to compete at the AniMajor which now solves all their travel problems. The private flight will not only bring the Chinese teams to Kyiv but also take them back to China. WePlay Esports posted on its Twitter handle that all the travel needs of the Chinese teams had been met, so they would be able to reach Kyiv in time. Due to recent changes in (European) airspace, the return tickets of PSG.LGD, Team Aster, Invictus Gaming, and Vici had been void earlier today.

WePlay Esports arranges charter flight for WePlay AniMajor Chinese teams

The private flight that has been arranged to “maximize the Chinese teams' convenience” will take off from China very soon, WePlay said. In addition, the return journey of the four teams will also be done safely via a private flight.

LGD Gaming (parent company of PSG.LGD) took to Twitter to thank WePlay for helping them deal with the problem.

Image Via LGD Gaming's TwitterEarlier today, Chinese Dota 2 caster, Chen "Jophy" Ya, had alleged that WePlay Esports did not book the return tickets for the Chinese teams that would be participating at the WePlay AniMajor. 

Soon after, the organization took to Twitter to explain the situation. Since the initial return tickets of the Chinese teams had become invalid, WePlay was doing everything possible to solve the problem and looking for new options for flight access for the Chinese teams.

Image Via WePlay's TwitterWe can expect to see video clips of the four teams being greeted at the airport on the organization’s Twitter handle once they arrive at Kyiv. Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming will begin their journeys in the wild card on June 2. While Invictus Gaming’s first BO2 series is scheduled against Execration, Vici Gaming will start its campaign against Team Secret.

As they directly qualified for the group stage and the playoffs, PSG.LGD and Team Aster, respectively, will take part in the tournament later on.

The WePlay AniMajor, the second Dota 2 Major of the season, is scheduled for June 2-13. Two teams each from NA and SA, three from CIS and SEA, and four from EU and China will be competing for a total prize pool of $500,000 USD and 2700 DPC points. However, the top eight teams will only be getting their share of the prize pool and DPC points. We will likely be getting the final list of 12 teams that receive a TI10 direct invite by the end of the WePlay AniMajor.
