We are now in the final half of the 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division as teams are aiming for a final push and giving their best to qualify for the second Dota 2 Major of the season. Week 4 (May 4-10, 2021) out of 6 has come to a close, with Team Spirit and Virtus.pro becoming the first two teams to qualify for the next Major. However, in Europe, China, and Southeast Asia, there is a fierce battle to finish in the top spots as underdogs continue to pull off timely upsets against the top teams. In North America, Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew, and Undying stay on top as we witness a repetition of season one. In South America, the tables have turned as Thunder Predator, who had had a magnificent outing at the Singapore Major, may not even be qualifying for the next Major. Here is a look at the top results in the 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division in week 4 and the points table of all six regions.

Standings and results of the 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division after week 4

1.Southeast Asia (SEA)

Contrary to the previous week, all top teams in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division turned up and delivered the performances they are known for. Fnatic was the big winner as they secured their third win on the trot, beating Omega Esports and Lilgun in the fourth week. TNC Predator and OB.Neon also bounced back after losses in the previous week as they beat BOOM Esports and Omega Esports. T1 ended Execration’s three-match winning streak by taking the series 2-1.

2. Europe (EU)

The DPC in Europe witnessed a couple of major upsets on the first day of the fourth week. OG lost to Tundra Esports while Brame ended Alliance’s four-match undefeated streak. On the other hand, Team Liquid clinched their fourth win on the trot as they handed Tundra Esports their second series loss in the week. The grand DPC contest was between OG and Team Secret which the former managed to win 2-0 in an exhilarating two games. Brame, Secret, and Tundra Esports are tied on the fifth spot, so Secret, who was the raid boss in season 1, surprisingly, finds itself on the verge of relegation.

3. China

PSG.LGD was the big winner of the China DPC as they won back-to-back series against EHOME and Sparking Arrow Gaming. Team Aster remain undefeated as they smashed Sparking Arrow Gaming in a series that lasted less than 40 minutes. Singapore Major champions, Invictus Gaming, have seemingly not in the best form, similar to Team Secret in the EU. They are currently placed at the number seven spot as Elephant pulled off a minor upset against them in week 4.

4. Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)

Team Spirit and Virtus.pro continued their flawless run in the CIS 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division as they defeated Team Unique and EXTREMUM 2-0, respectively. With these victories, they have become the first two teams to qualify for the second Dota 2 Major of 2021. Natus Vincere and AS Monaco Gambit were also clinical in their performances against Winstrike Team and PuckChamp. Only one slot from the region now remains up for grabs, and almost all teams are still in contention for it.

5. North America (NA)

North America certainly has the most skill disparity as Evil Geniuses, Quincy Crew, and Undying look to be miles ahead of the other teams in the league. These three teams are yet to face each other, so they are unconquered in the tournament after the fourth week. Sadboys (PentAce) have plunged after their roster change and role swaps. They have not been able to win a single series and have a 0-5 W-L record. All matches in week 4 were quick 2-0 victories by the winning teams.

6. South America (SA)

With only two slots allocated to SA for the Major and newer teams emerging stronger, the region is turning out to be most exciting. NoPing e-sports have seen a massive increase in gameplay as they are the only undefeated team in the region with five wins in five series. They defeated Thunder Predator 2-1 and Infamous 2-0 in week 4, while on the other hand, beastcoast incurred their first loss after getting beaten by Infamous. So, things look spicy in the region, with the top four teams in strong contention for the two top spots.
