NA streamer Mason mentions the reason behind not being so nice on streams

Mason is popular among his fans for his antics and bizarre speeches which lead to an entertaining stream. But, although a number of viewers tune in to his steam every day, he is considered as one of the less ‘wholesome’ streamers. Explaining why this is the case, he says,

“The thing is like - oh you are not really nice Mason, have you seen how you talk to... If you guys had... Let’s reverse the roles for a second. (If) you guys were 9K MMR, you guys went to multiple TIs, you guys won a LAN and you start streaming Dota 2. And you look at your chat and you see racism, you see one man spam, you see CringeFrogs, left and right, trying to get your attention. Then you see 1Ks (1K MMR players) going, “You f***ing fatass. Why did you TP fatass?”

The American streamer then went on to mention a live instance of someone promoting racism in chat.

“Being nice to you guys is an absolute waste of time. I’d rather not. I’d rather not pretend to be nice. See this guy just said the n-word and now I have to ban him. Have some f***ing perspective on this. Don’t act like (I’m) being mean for no reason. You guys are actual animals most of the time. You guys are animals, Dota is a stressful game, my teammates are animals.”

While the NA carry player is a regular streamer now, he has previously played for some of the top Dota 2 teams like Evil Geniuses in 2014, Digital Chaos in 2017 and Infamous in 2019. He has attended a number of TIs and significant offline events with his best performances coming at The Summit, ESL One Frankfurt 2014 and TI4.
